Re: Dexter Pratt I'm going to have to say yes, no doubt on this one. He's a mule and his body is not even well developed yet. We'll see!
Re: Dexter Pratt Does anyone know what classification he plays in? I am asking because he is averaging 10 yards per carry and yet there were reports that teams wanted him at another position other than RB. 6-2, 227lbs, 4.48 forty, around a 40 inch vertical and he still looks thin with room to develop muscle. Seems to good to be true. Why wasn't he ranked higher as a RB?
Re: Dexter Pratt scout has him as the 8th best rb in the nation, that's pretty damn high. He's also rated as the 58th best player overall, one behind Ford.
Re: Dexter Pratt It has to be a small classifiction cause he is trucking people half his size in his highlight videos, he is the largest guy on the field it looks like half the time. Its cool to watch though
Re: Dexter Pratt Navasota is in Class 3A, not the most competitive class in Texas. The highlite clips I've seen of Pratt were against Needville in the State playoffs last year. Needville is a small rice farming community SE of Houston and were clearly outclassed. A couple of games later Navasota ran up against Liberty Hill the defending state champs and the tables were turned. The final score was something like 48 - 14, but it wasn't that close. LH was ahead 41 - 7 in the second quarter. Pratt was something like 13 carries forr 48 yds. (approx.). I haven't seen any highlite clips from that game. Pratt is probably not as good as the Needville game showed or as bad as the Liberty hill game showed. I think Miles got Pratt for the same reason he got Williford. When its 4th and 1 with the game on the line he can go for it and make it, while the sportswriters who are now equipment managers, are calling him crazy.
Re: Dexter Pratt Oops, I can't edit. As an interesting sidenote The Liberty Hill Panthers beat the Gilmer Buckeyes (yes Buckeyes) in the Class 3A finals. Not a good year for nuts.
Re: Dexter Pratt Don't put Pratt in the same boat as Williford as far as recruiting and expectations go. The guy is a beast and when he has room to run he can move. He's not a project or looked at as simply a pile driver, he has a lot of skills.
Re: Dexter Pratt Thanks Dudley, I suspected he racked up some of that 10 yd per carry average against lesser competition. I have high hopes for him though. His size and speed combination are so intriguing. We need a big back, not only for short yardage plays, but when our line can't produce many openings against the best defenses. That is when a big back that can hit the line and drive for 3 or 4 yards without a hole comes in real handy.
Re: Dexter Pratt He is not rated as high on rivals. He is not in the top 100, but both Richardson and Michael are in the top 100. He is still rated close to Ford though.
