Re: Dexter Pratt not gone. awaiting clearinghouse issue and rumored to be upset at way he was treated:huh: if he were gone, just to get some speculation going, would we go back after CMichael?
Re: Dexter Pratt Michael and Pratt aren't the same style of back, IMO. Judging by the lack of commitable offers CM (Rival's #3 RB) has had, I think there are other issues surrounding him as well. I doubt CM gets a commitable LSU offer.
Re: Dexter Pratt I have not paid any attention to these rumors, but this tidbit got my attention and now I am concerned but mostly confused as to how this situation got so messeed up. From the Oklahoma: http://www.newsok.com/osu-football-notebook/article/3338624?custom_click=pod_headline_osu-football OSU in running for ex-LSU commit There’s plenty of speculation but little in the way of hard proof as to what happened between Dexter Pratt and LSU. Regardless, it doesn’t look like the Navasota, Texas, High School running back will be playing for the Tigers this fall. Pratt, 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, had hoped to enroll at LSU for the spring semester, but it seems that undetermined circumstances have terminated that relationship. Oklahoma State is believed to be among the contenders now, though Pratt’s recruitment is open. His destination, however, could be decided very soon, as he would prefer to enroll in the spring semester. OSU would have room for a spring enrollee, since Katy, Texas, senior Joe Mitchell decided not to enroll earlier this month, instead waiting until the summer. Rivals rates Pratt as the 15th-best overall player in Texas, and in college, he could be either a running back or linebacker.
Re: Dexter Pratt If it's a clearinghouse issue, as described, then he's not enrolling ANYWHERE in the spring, correct? That article sounds like homer-laden BS to me.
Re: Dexter Pratt Also just for the sake speculation, lets assume something does go wrong and Pratt signs elsewhere, I think LSU needs two true RBs in this class. Does that make sense for LSU to then offer Singleton and give him a shot at a power RB role rather than FB, or does this open the door for Lacy? I think the depth at RB looks great, even after next year, 2010 starts with Murphy as a SR, Ridely as a JR, Ford as a RSFR or SO, hopefully Seastrunk as a FR.
Re: Dexter Pratt We will need to get some clarification as to his 40 speed, it's listed as 4.85 on scout.com. That won't even be good for a FB trying to run with the ball, much less a TB.
Re: Dexter Pratt Both Allen & Singleton have been told that they will have the opportunity to run the ball as FBs. This doesn't open the door for Lacy. If we don't get Pratt, our depth takes a definite hit.
Re: Dexter Pratt That is possible, but there are still the same issues with him now as there were before. IMO, we'll put a little extra effort into Richardson if anything in this class, but otherwise it is wait until next year & make it up there.
