I'm very concerned about losing Bo Pelini and/or Jimbo Fisher. How sure are we that we will lose one or both of our coordinators? If you have to put a percentage on it, what would you say is the chances that we will lose Bo? 40%? 50%? 99%???? What about Jimbo? Also, who are their potential replacements? Someone please enlighten me.

Our passing game will take a while to develop next year. We would be okay if JaMarcus stays, but not as good as this year. If he leaves, we will struggle. We will have the talent, but besides Early it will be very young.

That means we will need to be able to run the ball very effectively to be good on offense. I think we will start off with a committee, maybe Keiland getting a few more carries per game than everyone else, and progress towards Keiland & Hester getting the vast majority of the carries.

Someone to look for is Richard Murphy.

Considering receivers, I think Doucet will excel as the leader of the group. LaFell will step up, and one of the Mitchell boys might have a breakthrough season as well. Overall, obviously won't be the same passing game as this season, but I think they will do sufficiently well. Running game definitely cannot afford to struggle like this season.

That is so true what you said right there. I expect a very big year from Doucet. I really feel that LaFell can step up. He had limited playing time, but appears to have talent. Another player to mention is Dixon, he was a big time recruit. He lacks big play speed, but he is a big strong receiver. He could end up like a Josh Reed type. Signing someone like McKnight and or Toliver would be huge. Plus we have Benton and Bajoie coming in.

I agree the bigger concern is the running game, if Russell doesnt come back. It will take LSU a few games to get the passing game going in full stride. Ive always felt though you have to play to win, so whoever wins out Flynn or Perrilloux is your QB. Have faith in them and call as though Russell were playing. LSU has always played better when running after passing. I hate when Fisher is ultra conservative and trying to run the majority of times. LSU runs better once it establishes the pass. IMO LSU doesnt have the type of line to be a smash mouth team. We are more geared to passing first, run second. Too bad the OC doesnt noticed that too.

Runnng backs take a beating in the SEC. LSU has lost starting running backs to injury several times in the last six years. Plenty of capable running backs are essential to success. It's called depth , not "running by committeee" and champion teams need it.

We need two running backs who are SEC-caliber so the loss of one doesn't ruin the season. Williams and Scott will be big, fast, sophomores next year and should carry the load at running back. I don't care who starts . . . whoever separates himself in the spring, I suppose.

We need a few specialty backs and we seem well-manned. Hester is a fine third-and-long back who can pick up the blitz or get into the pass pattern, as well as run the draw very well. Broussard seems to be regaining his form as a power back and the kind of third-and-short back that is automatic for 2 yards when you really need 2 yards. Holliday can be used as a blazing speed back from time to time.

And we need a couple of reserves to start getting playing time and start developing us some depth in case injuries take down starters. A handful of redshirts and true blue-chip freshmen will push the veterans.

I think LSU is in good shape at running back for 2007. I'm not so confident about the offensive line, yet.

Bandit, I did fail to mention Dixon. He is obviously another potential breakthrough. And if we land Toliver, I think he gets right into the mix in 07.
