You're right, Tightrope™ vs Fixation for Ankle Syndesmosis. (Wild that's trademarked, eh?) If you're just hearing about it now, I'm shocked. Coincidentally, back in 2014 Cam Robinson had the same procedure done after having a high ankle sprain against UT. Two weeks later he played in our game in Baton Rouge. Jalen had it and it took him about four weeks to get back and then Tua had it last year before OU. He did well in that game. For reference sake on how quickly kids can come back here's a video clip from last year, nine days after the procedue.
Ya know, you're talking about a guy that's been here since the beginning...going on 16 years, right? It's not only safe to say, it's damn well given we all know who he is and who you are. Which, in turn, makes this comment like a lot of others. That image is verified in your own words ... You're certainly in the class of "not knowing what the hell you're talking about."
You're right. No one is going to beat out an undefeated Clemson for a playoff spot in spite of their schedule. They have the cache to support their selection. Why you don't think LSU, as a one loss team, would be selected over other one loss teams is inexplicable.
I read it several times before I responded, Shane. Like I said, it's inexplicable to think a one loss LSU team isn't going to get the same consideration as a one loss Bama. Both will not get in over an undefeated Clemson. Now, whether it would be a one loss Bama or a one loss LSU there isn't going to be another one loss team that would get the nod over either in my view especially if we're talking about three undefeated and a one loss team getting in. As it stands today there's only one talking point/narrative I see changing when comparing the current polls and the CFB playoff committee's rankings: Texas isn't going to be considered as much of a quality win from the committee as it's being treated by the coaches and AP. It's certainly arguable their best win, to date, is against La. Tech. What's crazy here, Shane, is I have more faith in the LSU resume than you do.
I think your missing on this one. Pretty sure his meaning was more that Bammer looks better in a tutu than LSU when making a choice for a 1 loss team. As a perspective of favorism from the selection committee. In that I disagree whereas LSU will or should have a better resume as a 1 loss than bammer. The only advantage you have as a 1 loss is poll positioning at the time of the loss. Though that may be undone with a win against the barn this week. Tune in, should be a dandy
If that's what he was insinuating ... still off base, in my view. Earlier this morning I mentioned the cache Clemson brings with their resume in spite of their schedule this season. The committee will look at and consider their resume from 2018, 2017, and so on. In the same light, Bama will get the same look based on their cache as well. I believe we have enough precedent to make educated guesses on how the committee will view teams in their selection process. And I stand by the notion a one loss Bama, or LSU, gets the nod over a one loss team from the other P5 conferences. (Ohio State has the possibility to be a fly in the ointment if they're B1G champs but that's greatly dependent on which team they may loss against.)
Exactly what I'm insinuating and while we, by that I mean us not you, can agree that LSU would be as good or better of a choice in that situation, it won't or wouldn't happen. That is my contention. You like to poo poo the gump bias that we all know exist but its there. Saban will be all over ESPN crying about how good they are and why they should not be left out and they will drink it down like they always do.
