I think with Notre Dame creeping, only one SEC team gets in this year. Its beat Bama and win out or bust as far as our playoff chances are concerned.

But the UF loss still sucks for multiple reasons. One being, if we beat Bama and drop the game against A&M, Bama gets the seat in the west. Which would suck beyond words.

Bama gets in with a loss to us. In that scenario two sec teams make it in. Sec champ and bama.

I guess I see what you’re saying. But I think if we were a 1-loss team, and that team was Alabama, we still don’t get in

Actually we wouldn't. We would be too far into the season to creep back into the top 4 with a loss to Bama. We just need to beat Bama and after the crap they are saying about us not being able to, I hope our guys go lights out on them

Typically an early loss is more overcom-able than a late one, I agree, however, in this instance, Alabama is regarded so highly as the #1 team, that a loss to them would not send us very far down the polls, if at all, if we were undefeated and the game was close. I think that is what @shane0911 is referring to.

    maybe.
an undefeated or 1 loss SEC champ is in
Clemson is in even if they drop 1.
We not getting in over a 0-1 loss ND either
highly unlikely we get in over a 1 loss Mich or OSU that has an extra win in conf cg over us.
OU/Texas likely also passes us up with a Conf CG win and only 1 loss.

so unless SEVERAL teams drop an extra game, a 1 loss non-conference champ is not getting in this year.

so we still must beat Bama. with or without the loss to Florida.

that’s whether we lose by 1 in quadruple OT or if we lose by 11ty billion.

In other words it would be the loss to Florida that would keep us out of the playoffs. I can't see any scenario where a 2 loss team makes a 4 team playoff. If ee had beaten the gayturds we would still have a shot at the playoffs by winning out even after a loss to bama.
