I know a young man who puts ketchup on just about anything: 1) Mac/cheese 2) red beans/rice 3) rice/gravy 4) expensive steaks I tell him I think he could eat a s### sandwich if it was covered with ketchup.... I have a lady that used to come to my post office in an old used car. On the side window, it had a sign that said, "Pardon me....Do you have any of that CHEAP yellow mustard?" Never saw this thread when it was new. Unfortunately, I found it right after eating dinner this evening, which I almost tossed when reading "grits with mayo". EWWWWWWW!!!!!! My husband puts ketchup on hot dogs. That just drives me insane. I don't see how he can eat them that way. :dis: I prefer mustard and relish, or chili, cheese, and onion. Ketchup on Pizza? NO WAY!
Hot dogs: Ketchup + mustard + chips (I know that sounds weird... but its like eating a toasted hotdog bun... just makes it crunchy..) Hamburgers: Mustard + Mayo + Ketchup + Dressed... Fries: Ketchup or ranch (This is gonna sound weird, but if you ever go to Wendy's and get a frosty, dip your fries in it... It's actually pretty good... I nearly barfed when I saw someone do it, but she gave me a dollar to try it, so I did...) I rarely use condiments on anything else but sandwiches...
Did you know that they make ketchup in PURPLE now? Two of my grandaughters are LSU fans. I made them hot dogs for lunch one day.....with yellow mustard and purple ketchup.......
I use Zatarain's Chow-Chow on my red beans and white beans. I also like those little white cocktail onions as a side to my red beans. My wife is from Sunset (N of Lafayette) and she gets grossed out everytime I do it. I would never even think of ketchup in my red beans. That's just wrong.
Yeah, one week in high school, for some reason, they only had purple ketchup out.... I really couldn't get myself to eat something purple.... I just couldn't do it...
