Funny, this article came out today. http://www.nhpr.org/post/less-potent-makers-mark-not-going-down-smoothly-kentucky
The burbon hasn't changed you old goat you just lost your ability to taste it. And I was in the Marine Corps 25 years ago. Damint, I'm an old goat too. Damnit damnit damnit
Just smooth as can be. I won't, refuse, to the point of getting angry with people who defile it by putting cola or any other foolishness in the glass with it other than a few ice cubes. Damn crazy people.
Jesus H Christ. You boys need to drink some good bourbon sometime. Makers Mark is good whiskey, don't get me wrong, just not as good as it was. Try Makers 46 some time. Same distillery, but aged 94-proof sippin' liquor and still only 35 bucks or so. But break down some day and get a $50 bottle of Woodhouse Reserve Double Oaked . . . small-batch 90.4 proof that is aged twice in different barrels. For a good inexpensive party bourbon, you can't beat Ezra Brooks. It's still aged long and still 90 proof, is far better and cheaper than that JD or Evan Williams crap.
Ive done Makers 46, its nice. Also a fan of Woodford Reserve and Bullit isnt bad either. In the end pound for pound Makers is pretty damn tough to beat.
