You should certainly chill your ice wine and any other wine for that matter, including reds, but give your locale, the type of wine, and how long before you drink it, some thought. "Room temp" is actually referring to the "cellar temp" of most European basements or caves and usually hovers around 50-60 degrees with a little humidity. If you are in the states(in the south) it is unlikely you will have your wine at that temp unless you have dedicated wine storage.

Most Americans drink their reds too warm and their whites too cold, especially here in the south. I think most people treat their whites like it's ice tea! 40-50 degrees would be a good temp to start drinking your ice wine, but it will warm up after a few minutes(assuming you don't treat it like tequila!) and you will find it much more enjoyable as it gets closer to 70 degrees, so don't fret over keeping it cold. Just start it that way and watch it change in front of you. Nothing like a good ice wine or Sauternes...:thumb:

I have a wine cooler. Perfect temperature to drink reds.

Yeah, but do you actually tailgate with wine?? We did for the bama game, and it was perfect weather that day. Believe it or not, we got a few funny looks....mostly from guys carrying 100 oz mugs of Jim Beam! However, as cold as it got, I needed a huge flask of Jameson to get me through the bone-chilling game!!

Nice pic and yes we bring wine but not to the first few games, a little to warm for red wine. I'm not a big white wine drinker.

Well, we will have to try to hook up this season. One of the guys in that picture has his own winery in Napa and its pretty impressive stuff. He & his wife are hooked on the LSU game day experience now, so I imagine he will be back this year.

Our daughter starts at LSU this year as well, so I imagine we will make a few more games ourselves. I always bring plenty of wine, so you will certainly be welcome. I suppose if you have to start drinking at 9am, you may as well pretend to be healthy! :hihi:

If you don't start early....you can't drink all day.
