Get to know the ORAC scale for antioxident rich foods. http://thelabrawtory.com/2010/03/16/top-antioxidant-food-on-orac-scale/ I eat 90 % cacao dark chocolate (really bitter). I buy the Lindt brand (you find this at Wal Mart). I get a 90 % bar and a 70 % bar (slightly sweet), and I eat one square from each everyday. I make a sandwich out of it with a little sea salt in between. Yum. Nice little treat. Ultra high in antioxidents, better than any berry you're going to eat. http://www.lindtusa.com/shop/chocolates/bars-12053--1/90-cocoa-excellence-bar http://www.lindtusa.com/shop/chocolates/bars-12053--1/70-cocoa-excellence-bar
Honestly, it's hard to keep up with all this shit. I've cut out overly processed foods like frozen pizzas and mac and cheese which I used to eat all the time. But as far as focusing on fiber or wheat or omega whatevers, I just haven't done enough research. And it's not just about doing the research, its about finding meals that still work for the family within the nutritional plan. I'm having a boudin stuffed chicken tonight so I suspect I'm not getting any healthier today.

Thanks for the info and I will check it out in further detail later. As for grapefruit, I remember a comedian doing a bit awhile back. Something like "Hmmm, I like grapes and I like most fruit. Grapefruit sounds delicious. Then, you take a bite and it's the worst taste you can imagine. Talk about false advertising."
That was it, thanks for finding. The grapefruit spreads its evil nectar to all of the other good fruits and ruins the fruit salad. The only reason that God made a grapefruit was to have something to compare tumors to in size.
Grapefruit tastes great to me. Always has. Especially the sweet ruby red ones. And it has very good health benefits. Oranges are too sugary for diabetics and Lemons are so acidic that they attack the enamel on your teeth. I have a friend who makes 10-ingredient smoothies for breakfast, but the stuff is way too sugary for me.
