I dont see what people expect at Texas. They must be blind not to see the glaring problems they have on defense. Sure they recruit great skill players, but they don't have a defense. Plus their coach isn't too good.
They'll probably hold on to him as long as possible knowing how ignorant they are. Get a load of this convo I had w/a UT student. ME: arkansas will beat a big xii team today and so will ole miss tomorrow TOOL: b/c they play mizzou.. they suck TOOL: who does ole mis play ME: osu TOOL: omg.. .why are they in big 12 ME: well in case you didn't know thats the same bowl ut played in last year TOOL: no shit ... we get screweed every year ME: haha how did yall get screwed this year? yall were lucky to be ranked number 5 ... yall got throttled by a pac 10 team TOOL: ok... we would be goin to fiesta if ou won ME: yall didnt get screwed, the media knows mack brown is a dumbass ME: ya and yall would've got embarassed worse by ohio state than wa state TOOL: nah TOOL: er didnt ahve anytinhg to play for ME: pride? hello, thats why mack brown sucks, he's a retard that's never won a championship of any kind ... if ut was smart they'd fire him and get spurrier ME: what would yall have had to play for in the fiesta? TOOL: 15 mil ME: ya its like they'd've gotten it anyway plus there is money in every bowl
My rant off the day on my site goes off about them. We watched the game with about 10 UT fans last night. They were livid. Mack Brown will be looking over his shoulder for next year. It was such a dumb move to keep Mock in. He has already talked about transfering. So What does Mack do, he plays the eventual transfer and benches the future of his program. Keep in mind, there is a lot of Golf Courses here in the Austin/San Antonio area.
I haven't heard anybody talking about Spurrier but Austin sports radio was burning Mack at the stake this morning. Bucky Godbolt, radio host and former UT running backs coach, was all over the coaching staff for "not putting the players in position to be successful." He also mentioned UT QB Young pouting on the bench, on-field arguments between players, and lack of toughness as signs that UT has a lot of problems to solve. As for the fans, the ones I know are not happy with Mack or his assistants. Mack has averaged about 10 wins a season since he's been here but they want more. Most I talk to are not optimistic whenever Texas plays a "big" game. They've seen Mack lose too many. Most disturbing to them is the fact that as long as Stoops is in Norman, UT's chances of reaching the Big 12 title game, let alone bigger things, are not good. Funny, but I remember Mack's time at LSU and that many I knew then hated to see him leave. Of course, once he became a greenie, his fate was sealed with Tiger fans. Having watched him closely since he's been here, I have to say that his being tagged "Mr. February" is probably fair. It will be interesting to see how his team's performance impacts his strongest suit (recruiting).:geaux:
