I think volatility. I'm more liberal socially. I don't hate the dregs of society like I used to. It's not all their fault. And I can side with homos now. I understand women drive anything insane over time. Even DNA. I understand your position on religion and how I'm crazy to believe in it but I'm too far gone. Oh and drugs. I used to think as long as it was prescribed it was ok and evil if not. Pot especially.

yes i think about this as well. i rarely hate anyone anymore and when i do i try to remind myself not to. people are, much more than i realized, a product of things they cannot control. when people are terrible and angry and mean, i realize that it sucks to be them and i feel bad for them. sometimes i hate them and want to beat people up for being stupid jerks but as i get older i really do genuinely feel bad for people who are shitheads. for example, i dont think criminals want to be criminals and i think they hate themselves for it. its like anything you hate about yourself. i am lucky to not tend to be violent and angry. i would be miserable if i was that sort of person who had to try to manage anger and criminal behavior. this doesnt mean i forgive bad folks or think jails should instead by psychiatric units. like steven pinker says in his book "the stuff of thought", the lack of freewill doesnt mean we shouldnt operate a justice system as if freewill doesnt exist. we need to pretend freewill exists in the same sense that we pretend in geometry that a plane extends indefinitely and has no mass.

also i am not as totally opposed to government health care as i used to be. i still think it is terrible but now i am willing to listen. i am definitely opposed to the weird hybrid we have now.
