I've had several pairs of Allen Edmond shoes. They are the best but there were only a handful of places you could get them around here (they've recently opened a place in NO). I resoled them several times but the do wear out, especially if you're hard on them like Red said. They will refurbish them for you. Ordered a few over the internet but they never fit just right. You have to try them on. And many of their styles are way overpriced. I used to wear a tie to work but now I'm a kacki and pull over shirt worker. And I am a professional. And I usually look better than most of my partners who wear scrubs.
I agree that work clothes largely depend on context. In the office, if I'm not meeting clients, it's anything from jeans and a short sleeved button down to slacks and or khakis and a long sleeve button down. Meeting clients is almost always slacks and a long sleeve with the occasional tie, depending on the client. In court it's always a conservative suit, bespoke shirt and a tie.
You guys convinced me to get a sportscoat/blazer and I'll probably start checking them out this weekend. This discussion reminded me of that movie with Steve Carrell when Ryan Gosling is trying to give him a lesson on fashion sense. I'm like Carrell with the jeans/New Balance (or Asics in my case) although I'm pretty sure I don't have the mom butt (yet). I've never paid much attention to fashion and just try to fit in with the crowd (which obviously varies by event/function). I've heard Houston was a suit town as recently as the 80s but now is much more casual. The office that I worked until '08 was business casual although a tier above my current one, due to the manufacturing workshop at our facility and more of a blue collar feel. The engineers & other professional staff at my location dress much differently than their counterparts at our corporate office.
The call was right. Just late. Way way too late. But then again if you can't call it Immediately maybe it's not the correct call. I'm now unsure bc of that discrepancy.
the score was 6-3, my wife said it wouldnt have matter, I said it would 2 guys would have scored and the tying run at least on second. Im i wrong?
Of course it could have changed the outcome. Did it? We will never know. I do appreciate being the determinant in whether you get any from your wife however. But I failed to give an answer.
Did technology kill the album? In other words, has the digital revolution and mp3's, killed the idea of a band or artist making an entire album? 10 12 15 20 really good songs in a row telling a story, from start to finish.
