Let's compare apples to apples. JaMarcus is performing nearly as good as any redshirt sophmore QB in the country. He doesn't remind me of Campbell. Campbell seemed down right stupid for a few years. JaMarcus learned alot this year and although he's still learning - he's already a pretty good quarterback. As mentioned here, he needs to work on softening his touch when applicable & a few other things. These are things that are very correctable. He knows the play book and is growing every game with making checks & seeing what the defense is going to do. By the end of the year, he will be really good. Next year, he will be amazing.
Time will tell, but he's got the tools to really excel. If he can build up some consistency and the coaches show confidence in him it wouldn't at all surprise me to see Perilloux transfer as JR is just a soph.
I don't think RP has a stronger arm that JaMarcus... Other than that, if there are any QBs with stronger arms - they are few & far between.
Your opinion , it's wrong. you're thinking... your first mistake. No he looks down his reciever and he uses no stealth in ANY handoff. In other words he advertises when and where the ball is going. Watch him, you'll see it. Unless of course you don't want to. Ray Charles could see it. BTW who are all these "armchair" QB's you speak of? did you coin this phrase? Aren't you being an "armchair" Qb by having an opposite opinion? Surely you got your opinion from your arm chair right? get a clue.. :dis: if you dont like someone's opinion you can say so without the extra BS. road to hall of fame?? WTF does that have to do with this? the road to your smart a$$ post is paved with your ignorance and a$$umptions. So you fumble your way into the hall of fame? Ok fine, but can we NOT fumble our way into the SEC CG? yeah I think that's the better option. Again Stevie Wonder could see this. :dis: ( extra disrepect thrown in to match your extreme wit, I knew you wouldn't mind ) You're opinion again, but it's wrong, :nope: if you look at the replay you'll see he eats the ball or fumbles alot when under significant pressure. I think Miles even mentioned it once in his show. hey man i can understand if you just can't see or something. whatever. :dis: You think Saban's off his rocker too? Something about Saban's name cause you to have fits and say people are "off their rocker"? :dis: Blanket statement forthcoming ..ANYONE who thinks cajdav1 handled his post well is off his rocker. Now given JR's youth, I think he is improving and I have more hopes for him than I did last week, and the week before. if he could just do ONE thing and that's his ball handling, improve that, I think he'll be fine. I am alot less worried than I was after the first game. How bout some advice for yourself? I am definately not an expert on anything and it's OK to disagree, but you don't have to be rude to do so. I respect your opinion, even though I don't agree. and for all the insults you threw out. GFY :hihi: good day.
There no way RP has a bigger arm that Russell. I know he can throw it like an NFL QB, but Russell's arm is unreal. In the NFL, maybe Culpepper, Leftwich, and Carson Palmer can hang with his arm. Oh yeah, Favre too (almost forgot).
I am a big JR supporter, but lets slow down on calling him the next big thing... he still does really bad things... inexperience mistakes- throwing into coverage, taking sacks, telegraphing passes mistakes that you should have really gotten out of your system by jr high football- stumbling from under center, dropping snaps, not throwing the ball away or running out of bounds to stop the clock at the end of a half, fumbling the ball. I think the guy's a great passer... but his leadership, poise, and football IQ have to go waaaaay up... some things can be coached (throwing the ball away, looking off defensive backs) but some things (fumbling snaps, and falling down in his 3 and 5 step drops can't)
