Back up QB is always the most popular position, but not always the answer. If things are too fast for Mett, and we haven't really started SEC play yet, Rivers will probably struggle as well. My opinion, with as bad an o-line as we have, it might not be a bad idea to incorporate a QB with quicker wheels in on a few plays here and there. Trying not to look ahead, but option QB's have been MUCH more successfully then pocket passers vs. Bama. So just having the threat at least makes us a little bit more dangerous and difficult to prepare for. Bolden? Randle? I have no idea, kind of been out of pocket all season, especially between games, been traveling for work all year, so please dont lash at me if that's a ridiculous suggestion I just want the best for our Tigers
Mel Kiper said the Mett was his preseason favorite for the Heisman. He also recently said Bama was overrated. Gives credence to what I always say, if you're going to be wrong, no point in half-stepping.
Do they not like you on the bama boards? I only ask because you insist on shoehorning your team into every conversation on this one. Seriously...get a new act.
Tiga, you are SO not on droppings right now. If you were, you could be reading conversations about last night being "the worst game in the history of Tiger Stadium" or "Chris Faulk was injured in practice. Why in the hell was our best Olineman practicing? Miles is an idiot." No shit--
You may be right about some of that, but the high school offensive scheme and gameplans have a way of making all of our QBs either look overated, average, or poor. That is the big picture. What we need is a new devoted OC, and O-line coach, and for CLM to turn over the keys to the Ferrari to that OC. I believe it was you, Red, that a few years ago called for Stud to go, along with CGC, right? I think I remember that right, and I agreed with that. I have seen enough over the last 5 years, and 4 games into this season, to convince me that this is not a personnel problem, but a scheme/coaching problem. I agree w/CaptainTides comments above, too. Also, look at what Brett points out about Towson's comments "we knew they couldn't pass, so we just focused on stopping the run". Even Towson knows it. If Towson has a kicking game, they likely beat us last night.
I think Studrawa's offensive lines have underperformed and I still do. I can't complain about last years offense that went 13-1 without an SEC caliber quarterback, but it looks like we won't have one this year either. Still, we are undefeated, ranked in the top five and it is too soon to cry that the sky is falling. But I do think that OC and OL coach is one job too many for Stud.
1072 yards 6 TD 2 INT 65% ... respectable numbers if u ask me and with countless drops and 11 sacks its been a rough year for him so far lets be supportive guys hes a good QB who lost his left tackle and hasnt been able to get protection since, and has at least 20 dropped passes that would have led to who knows how many yards/scores/game momentum let's be supportive so it doesnt go to his head .... see jarrett lee 2008/2009
