hatch made a money deep throw at the end of the game like money money and lee might have a better arm but hes behind on the short throws
I agree with you 100%, I think so many of us forget that he is just a kid. It hasta be hard to be that young and playing in a college game that is that big. And to be playing for LSU! too. That is just a lot of pressure for someone so young. I think Lee will be a great quarterback, we hafta be patient. :geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux:
UF's four 1st half scoring drives started from their own 32 (3 play drive), their own 20 (they're gassed already?), our 41, and their own 20. The critical time of the game (IMHO) came when we scored to end the half, got a halftime rest, then ran a 6:00 touchdown drive to start the 2nd half. At that point, it was a one-score game, we had the momentum of back-to-back scores, and the defense had been resting for nearly a half hour (real time, as opposed to football time). Florida proceeded to score TDs on its next 3 possessions. The defense let us down, period, not our babe-in-the-woods QB.
My take on Lee: I think he will be a good QB for us. He is a RS Fresh, did we really expect him to be lights out. If he was so great, he would've won the starting spot by a long way versus Hatch. Just like any RSF, mistakes will be made, bad decisions will happen, and then great things will happen. The best QB's have bad days. I'm not worried about Lee. Yes the 2 interceptions hurt really bad, but sometimes the defense has to make up for offenses mistakes and we have depended on that from our defenses in years past. Our defense couldn't stop UF. That is where the real concern should lie. Yes Lee was inaccurate a good bit in the game, but that will happen too. He did get in a rhythm in the 2qtr and start of 3rd qtr, plus our OL couldn't open up the lanes for our running game so that put even more pressure on Lee. UF came into the game wanting to stop the run and put it all on Lee to make plays. They were wise in doing that because even they didn't expect a RSF to be able to win the game. Defense is the issue. How many times did LSU rush 5, and Tebow would sit back there for 4-5 seconds before finding the WR. Yes the secondary looked terrible but some of that is because Tebow had all the time in the world.
We certainly can pull it at the end of this year, but I feel like Lee will be a good QB for us. And in a year or two, that should be obvious.
Honestly...compared to Florida every other defense he'll face will be playing with lead shoes. I won't be surprised if his growth through this game was exponential. Bold prediction: if a RSF is eligible for Freshman of the Year, I'll go out and say that he'll win it in a landslide.
