He is a safety at best...more LB really...and he's constantly being asked to cover the Percy Harvins of the world. He is a hell of a tackler, and that should be what he is judged by...not covering...or not being able to cover...Percy Harvin.
USC made one this week. Spurrier is going with Garcia. If the LSU football team thinks USC is inferior as some of their fans do, they could lose again this weekend. USC has had problems with it's offensive line and their receiving corp doesn't have the game breakers that LSU or UF have. But the SOS has beaten teams before that had superior talent to his. They are playing pretty good on defense as well. Back to the topic, I don't think Lee has played as bad as some of you do. Columbia sure as hell isn't the place to throw a true freshmen QB in for his first start. Maybe you think Scott, Williams, and Murphy are going to run for 300 yards. Holliday could return 3 punts and a kickoff for touchdowns and that would help. It would be great for Jefferson if he got into an SEC game to get some experience against a quality opponent. But do you think it could also hurt his development to be thrown into a starting role in an environment such as Columbia with much still at stake? As far as passes being underthrown, overthrown, thrown high, and thrown low, Tebow does this pretty often. There are Gator fans still complaining that his passes don't have a tight spiral. Few, and I mean a few, had stated they wanted to see him benched to let Brantley have a shot. I'd love to see Brantley and Newton play more as well. I don't want them to come in and handoff as Brantley did late saturday night. I want them to throw and run the offense as if the score were tied. Lee is a good looking QB that alot of good schools would be happy to have. He didn't lose the game Saturday night and I can't see why you would consider replacing him with a true freshmen. Alternating Hatch in on occasion isn't such a bad idea as it would give Lee the opportunity to look at what Hatch is doing and what the defense is doing. He could also get a word from the coach.
UF96, there is only a small minority suggesting playing Jordan Jefferson over Lee. It will not happen, and Lee will develop into a fine QB for us. I don't think that our team is going to underestimate USC at all. Instead, much like Florida was against us, I feel we'll be a team hungry for redemption. I believe it's more likely that we take it to USC viciously, much like Florida did to us.
I get it from watching the game and making notes during the games for the Geaux Show. I come up with 80% by taking the number of passes attempted and the number of times the WR had to: Break Off their route, turn around completly backwards, or jump 5 feet in the air! The one stat that they dont keep track of is Yards After Catch. If any person of any football knowledge is out there watching Lee play YOU CAN NOT DENY that in the YAC department we are SUFFERING greatly!
Nope, I can't really deny it. However, our RS-JR #1 draft pick was doing the same thing after having 4 years in the system. So I'll let our RS-FR kid take his lumps.
I watched the same game and watched again twice now in slo-mo. You are saying that Lee had only 8 passes that were on target the whole game? I have to disagree.
Very much agree with you there.:thumb: It will be a test for the LSU defense, and the will of the players to win. It should be a fun game to watch.
