I have seen him hit his receivers in stride. Just didn't see much of it in the Florida game. He still put 21 on the board. The argument is that if he could have been better he would have just outscored Florida, when we gave up 51 points? In his first road start as a rsf? When every other aspect of our team was breaking down, he was supposed to play like Brett Favre? I am at a loss man. I think there is plenty of reason to be upset about the loss, but I just don't think Lee deserves this much criticism.
Spot on. Lee is not our problem, though he did have an "off" night... Matter of fact, I'm not sure he did have an "off" night. He was starting his second game in college, @ the Swamp (which is just as intimidating as TS, pretty much), against a team that's had this date circled on their calendar since last year when they walked out of Death Valley crying. He still managed to throw for 2 TD's and more than 200 yards with an accuracy of over 60%. I'd say he did pretty damned well considering. I tend to think Florida had the game of their life. I'm not discounting the talent they have on the team and how good they are, but this past Saturday, it all came together for them as well as it possibly could have. We happened to be on the receiving end of that arse whoopin'...
How the hell did he get hurt?? Sure wasnt playing in a game! He has started 2 games but I am trying to point out that if this is his style of play if his aim is just this off then the big play wont coming with our recievers having to stop for the ball!
Maybe I am being to critcal of him, but the same TYPE of passing that he did in the Auburn game, he did against Miss St and then again against Florida. 3 games with a BYE week thrown in to work on his timing with the WRs and he is still throwing 80% either behind them or overhead. It could all be nerves I will give you that because it has only been 3 games. I am simply afriad that it is not just nerves and this is how the kid plays. WITH that in mind if JJ is healthy and able to play what is wrong with getting him some real game time against USC. THATS ALL I WAS SAYING IN THE FIRST POST! And yeah Florida scored 51 on us TRUE but their LAST 3 SCORES came.....2 they started on our SIDE OF THE FIELD and 1 on the INT. Its not about weither or not we won or loss this weekend I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE GAMES TO COME!
dont matter you're right, 2. his nerves should be settled after 1 start to have better than 60% accuracy in his second. on the road. at the swamp. that's reasonable.
not to mention his whopping 2 years of High School experience (didn't even play before that), and sitting out a year. Un-acceptable that he's not accurate on 100% of his pass attempts. Let Keiland take snaps from now on. He's perfect so far in his college career.
We need to look at stats again obviously because no matter how people try and "spin" their comments, stats will mean a lot more. Jarrett Lee so far this season. These include the stats from the florida game where he was asked to throw 38 times (double what he had been averaging) 68 / 115. 59.1% comp. 852 yards for 7.4 ypp. 135.63 QB Rating. 170.4 yards per game. Matthew Stafford in his first season starting. 135 / 256. 52.7% comp. 1759 yards for 6.8 ypp. 108.98 QB Rating. 134.5 yards per game. Matthew Stafford last season after starting for an entire year. 194 / 348. 55.7% comp. 2523 yards for 7.3 ypp. 128.92 QB Rating. 194.1 yards per game. Tim Tebow so far this season. 93 / 148. 62.4% comp. 1235 yards for 8.3 ypp. 152.68 QB Rating. 205.8 yards per game I don't care how many posts someone has, or who they are, or how long they've been around here. If you look at those stats and still complain about Lee then you're allowing your emotions to get the best of you. He's in his first season playing, after only 3 years of playing football, and has only started 2 games. Yet he's averaged better or almost as good as the top QB's of the SEC. Remember before the season started and everyone was asking who was the best QB in the SEC: Tebow or Stafford? Well Lee's numbers so far this year are better than Stafford's numbers from his first 2 seasons in the SEC. Lee is not the problem. Far from it.
Where do you get your numbers from? That is quite a stat. Other than watching game film like a coach, I don't know how you would have come up with that stat, much less such an outrageous number. Plenty of posters have listed his current stats(which are available, unlike yours), and the numbers simply don't lie. Lee is a good QB, and especially so for being a RSF, on the road at Auburn and Florida. I have watched people on this board the last few years rip Russel, Flynn, Hatch, and now Lee. Proving only one thing. The backup QB(in this case 3rd string) is still the most popular player with fans. I just think you are letting your emotions get the better of you here. Lee has not lost us any games, and has actually won one for us. You really should give him a chance.
I don't think we need a QB Change. Lee is young and he was playing in a hostile environment. However, I do agree that he threw a lot of balls behind open receivers. I believe the coaching staff has to prepare him better. Lee will be ok and our team will be ok. I am a Louisiana native but I live in Florida. There are a lot of LSU fans in Florida. However, this one was painful to watch. I think the defense has to get more aggressive and Danny Mccray needs to get better as well. Is it me or does it seems like he is always chasing the receiver. He gets beat every week.
