Don't know much about Hatch's high school career, but he got on our radar because Crowton recruited him when he was out west. Apparently CGC felt Hatch fits what he likes to do on offense.

Who the hell ever heard of Matt Mauck other than Saban, before he came here? Trust your coaches, JB.

Give me a break. You make all of this out on one half of good football? Les is going to play both of these quarterbacks for the time being because he has to. And neither QB has really separated himself yet. Lee has certainly earned a start, but he's entirely capable of getting hurt, too. He also still has a lot of freshman mistakes in him, as we saw at Auburn. We need both of these guys.

It's a mistake to write off Hatch at this point.

Agree. But it now looks like for the Miss St game, Hatch may not get to start because they are taking it easy on him, and monitoring him. We may even see Jordan Jefferson this Saturday.

I'm wondering if JJ has enough of the offense down to get PT if the game is tight.

My guess is that he'll only see significant PT if we're crushing MSU. And I hope we crush MSU. Because IF Hatch is out, Lee's going to need JJ as a legit backup, not just to come in during injury situations, but also to create some complexity for the defense. I think Crowton and Miles get a lot of mileage out of these "package" situations.

IF Hatch is out due to injury, it'll just be this game. Experience for JJ isn't quite neccessary for Florida. No matter how badly the QB's may play against Florida, there's no way we see a true freshman unless both guys in front of him get hurt.

This would be a huge mistake is Miles starts Hatch this Saturday. Our identity on offense has changed now that obviously our personnel has changed. This happens to every team every year. We no longer have to be the type of team that needs a mobile, option-style quarterback behind center. Our offensive line is the best in the country and "Chuck the Truck" is practically a heisman bred runningback. Thumbs down to Les Miles and his staff should they start Hatch this Saturday. Lee doesn't need to be looking over his shoulder, nor should any quarterback for that matter if the head coach expects to get his quarterback's best performance.

IMO its simple, Lee gives LSU the best chance to win. Sure Hatch may be a bit more steady, he understands the game more. Fact is though our chances in the Auburn game with Hatch at QB wouldnt be too good. His lack of being able to go down field is a major hinderence. We need Lee to beat the top Ds in the SEC. If not they will stack the line and the running game will suffer. You can only keep going to quick slants, WR screen, and throwing to backs in the flat so much. Going down the field is essential. I do think Hatch should get a series or two and be thrown in from time to time to run but I think Lee clearly won the job. He showed poise and leadership. The team rallyed around him. I dont see how anyone can argue this point?

I don't think we win saturday night if Hatch played the bulk of the second half and I think Lee gives us the best chance to win from here on out, sure he will make mistakes but he clearly is the more talented out of the two.

Yeah I remember where he came from, and coach Crowton recruiting him and all that. The question was really a rhetorical question with my point being that Lee caught more praise out of hs as a QB than did Hatch. Which doesn't mean much at all really.
