Didn't know about these, thanks. Very interesting graphs for sure. But i've been wearing shorts for the last week in Louisiana...i cut my grass yesterday. WTF Kiki?
Warm here record cold in the Northeast last week. Local weather is not the climate. Just look at the graphs in the link. Dont get sucked in to this giant fraud by the left frogleg its all about them taking your money and freedoms. The reason they (the left) went to climate change is because they were losing the man made global warming debate. The climate has, is and will always change on its own we have no control at all.
Dumbo. You throw crap comments like that up either because you're ignorant or trying to deflect. CO2 and other greenhouse gases trap infrared from the sun in the atmosphere and that heats it up. THATS why they're called greenhouse gases. They make the atmosphere act like the glass in your greenhouse trapping heat in. It is a pretty SI As I said in an earlier post there are several actors on our climate. No one discounts the effect of solar variability or the other. Hell Krakatoa blew up in 1813 (I think) and the dust cloud it created blocked so much sun 1814 was called the year without summer. So yes short term changes can have profound effect. What is happening now is that the concentration of CO2 has risen sharply in the last 50 years. The result is that heat is being trapped in the atmosphere leading to several years of record high global temperatures and record minimum Artic ice coverage. Also the addition of freshwater to the ocean though melting is effecting the ocean currents. As has been said also the absorption of CO2 into the oceans is acidifying the water. This is bleaching coral and upsetting the balance of the ocean ecosystem. Much of the world depends on fish for protein. There is much we don't know and the effect of the increased heat has not been even but a trend is there. As data and better computing power we will learn more. I'm not following the fear mongers and calling for drastic action, socialism and the like. However denial gets you nowhere except buried. We need to understand what is happening and figure out the best way to deal with it that preserves our way of life. It's possible I'm sure.
"Another beautiful theory about to be murdered by a brutal gang of facts" Blah Blah Blah and more Blah! What YOU dont understand or dont know yet is CO2 is increases after warming the exact opposite of your view which is CO2 causes increased warming. The earth has, is and always will balance and correct itself over time needing no God like arrogant help from us. You and your leftist friends appear to think in human time which is your basic flaw. The earth acts in geologic time which is measured in time we cannot comprehend. Our time frame on earth is barely measureable yet WE think we know how to predict our future weather and climate. We can hardly predict something so simple as our weather a mere week in advance much less something so vastly complicated and dynamic as our current and future climate. Try looking and reading dissenting books and websites for a while instead of where you are getting your fraudulent info now, DUMBO!
This is what happens when you have a discussion with someone that lives in a bubble. You can cite scientists, facts, and it doesn't matter because the blowhards and paid con men he listens to drive that doubt right into his skull. Therefore it's all a lie, and somewhere some fat dude in a room is petting a hairless cat laughing at him.
Why don't you show your amazing grasp of details and explain how warming increases the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere? Your theory, if it can be called that is debunked by classical chemistry and chemical engineering. I believe it conflicts with thermodynamics a field that is well understood. I'm listening sport. I don't know where you get you're supposed knowledge of chemistry but the greenhouse effect is a well proven mechanism. According to the same chemistry and chemical engineering that allows us to make gasoline, plastics, air conditioners and everything else we enjoy in this world, the only way warming increases CO2 concentration is by releasing some trapped amount into the atmosphere. Likewise the chemical reaction that takes CO2 and H2O (you know water) and combines them into carbonic acid is a reaction well proven. That's what is happening to the oceans. As to your comment about the difference between geologic time and observed time; I get it. What we're seeing is changes in atmospheric composition that historically take thousands of years occur over 50 years. That a reason for concern. The issue is that we have well over 7 billion people on earth and supporting that population means there is little room for error. In addition 4-5 billion want to improve their lifestyle to approach our. That means significantly increased energy use and as seen in China, India and other countries significant increases in CO2 emissions. In just the last few years China has surpassed the US in CO2 emissions. The issue of inject carbon into the atmosphere will only grow. The effects of warming are not well understood or predictable though people are working on it. Finally your continued assumption that anyone who understands the science behind this is a lefty who wants to bring down the west is insulting. While there may have been an element of that early on scientific datum have shown it (global warming) to be a fact. Hell man even the oil companies acknowledge it. You say you're 70 and as your mind seems fossilized I believe it. Wake up and rather than trying to insult your way through arguments do some real research and learn. When/if you learn the facts you'll understand that dealing with the issue now is much better and cheaper than waiting. The real discussion should be over how we produce the energy necessary to maintain and improve our lifestyles while looking over the earth. Also we must do it in a capitalist economy by private effort. I'm not for governmental mandate or control. As I read the data we have time to work our way. Neither Chicken Little or See Nothing attitudes are the answerHere believe in the innate genius of man to find a way.
Eric the Red - no relation to our long lost Red - was exiled and settled there with some of his people. He named it Greenland to try to attract more people. So yeh, that's who and why the Vikings lied.
Save the planet, LEAVE! Go hide in your room in fear Al Gore will come to your rescue. BTW when you see that world renown scientist thank him for inventing the internet.
No he didnt they were able to raise sheep and sow crops at that time. Eric did exadurate a bit but the facts are it was much warmer then than now. For real exaduration see Al Gore.
