I like the purple jerseys ever now and then. White is better, more tradition, but a break is good every now and then. Look at Toefield's pic posted by DV..he looks good in purple, fashionable, hip! <bg>
LSU should always wear the white jerseys for any early season home game that gets moved to daytime for TV. We all know how hot it is in Baton Rouge in September most of the time. Dark jerseys absorb more heat than white jerseys. The advantage of white vs. purple may be slight but lets take any advantage we can.
White jerseys. Home and away. I associate the purple shirts with the six-year losing streak before Dinardo came aboard and brought back the home whites. I'm trying really hard to block those years.
red, I try to forget that association, and choose to remember purple jerseys with the '82 Florida St. game, Bill Arnsparger and Tommy Hodson. Curley who?
Hate to correct you SOLA,but LSU wore white jerseys in the '82 game against FSU(the 55-21 one),however, they DID wear purple that year in a non-conference home win vs. South Carolina(14-6).
You're right, TravisCoTiger. Just watched the highlight video of that game from the TAF website -- we were in white with FSU in garnet.
I thought we wore purple for all non conference home games. I am unaware of Coach Saban's "first home game" rule. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!
Here's a link to pics from each game last year. Notice we wore white for The Citadel and purple for Miami (OH) and ULL. http://www.lsusports.net/ad/sportlink.cfm?pagecode=fb-02gallery#
Is what I don't get about LSU's photo gallery is that we can't save the pictures, they are really great photos that i would love to just have saved in my pictures, or on my background.
