several remote places, watertown south dakota - (short story) I accepted a transfer from reserve, LA to watertown SD. It was summer of 1996, (warren morris), the drive was about 25 total freakin hours. I had a cassette made of the last inning and listened to that last inning about a 100 times in the drive. After living in south dakota for about a month i was in a gas station about 100 miles from no-where and this kid has a lsu baseball cap on, I run up to him all excited. He gives me this look (you know the one), and I confess that i'm a fan and alumn. He doesn't believe me, so i have to show him my lisc and car plates. He bought the hat in omaha. i can still hear the cbs announcer " its a deep drive down the right field line, that ball is gone. lsu wins the college world series on a home run by morris" i wish i knew where that tape was!!!
