I stand corrected. another example: my grandfather always insisted that dropping a stick of butter in the pot right after shutting off the fire made crawfish easier to peel. if he was outside at this time, we actually put the stick in. if not, we chucked that stick in the garbage and told him we put it in. no one could ever tell the difference.
