1. I hope he is loyal to his OC and not keep Jimbo... proved today why he doesn't have a shot at the HC position here, although I think he would have done well at Miss St. had he gone.
  2. I don't know. Apparently Miles and his OC are having bigtime problems right now. Plus, his OC, Mike Gundy, will most likely be the new HC at OSU. I would bet all of ramahs money on it.
  3. I heard that about Gundy as well. OU folks must be excited seeing how Miles had Stoops' number there it seemed.

by the way, I hear Bo Pelini is the top candidate for the Syracuse job......sucks for OU Peabody.
  4. Miles won a couple of games against us big deal. It's a rivalry game. Losses to them back when we had Blake and Schnellenbooger got OSU to believing they could actually beat us. As a result, they developed a whole new mindset when they play us. Before that, OSU just showed up and hoped to look respectable and not get humiliated.

Bo was with us just this year. Not that big of a loss. The head DC, Venables, has been with us since the beginning. He is my #1 pick for Head Coach after Stoops makes his legacy with 3 or 4 National Titles and then bolts for the NFL.

I really believe Stoops wants to beat or at least equal Bud Wilkinsons and Barry Switzers 3 National Championships a piece. I think the legacy thing is important to him. He already has 1 national championship of course.
  5. Man, I'm trying!

Trying to get excited about this hire, if it really happens. But I won't be disappointed if he turns down the offer. Anyway, trying to see the glass half full ... I guess it is true that Coach Miles would likely be able to pick up the recruiting trail much easier than an NFL guy coming in cold. I still say Petrino had more upside, but, there must be something about Miles (actually, I assume many things) that Skip really likes. I hope this hire is Skip's own decision, with no input from the BOS (Board of Spazs). Doesn't the TAF get involved as well, I wonder how wowed they are by this hire? I think in the final analysis what Skip did was choose an administrator over a technician ... by that, I mean he picked a guy he felt was mature and experienced and would come in and take over a successful program with the least possible blip on the radar screen. If it were me, I would have picked a technician (Petrino, Chow, Nolan), an X and O's, under the theory that an innovative guy would keep the success rolling and grow into the role of administrator and recruiter. Oh well, I don't have 5 CWS championship banners on my wall, like SB, so, I guess I just need to STFU and accept Skip's decision. After all, he's the AD, it's his butt on the line as well, so, I have no doubt he picked the guy he felt could keep the ball rolling. I sure hope he's right.

WELCOME TO TIGERTOWN, COACH LES MILES!:laflagwav

As a famous actor once said, "Wha' choo gonna do, Willis??"
  6. The more, The merrier

Let's just hope the Express doesn't slow down with 1-2 losses
  7. Let's hope it doesn't go to this...

  8. You should thank LSU for beating you last year then :) :)

Now, he'll have to stay at least one more year to equal that record. Maybe more if USC can pull it off for the '2nd straight NC'.
  9. Hell we will be lucky to make the Independence Bowl next year with Miles at the helm. And we will probably get blown out by Northwest Tennessee State. We will never win another national championship with Miles at the helm. Let 'er Rip
  10. I see this more as the train wreck. There is no way I am jumping on the train with Les "I can't even win the Alamo Bowl" Miles driving. Well get ready for 7-4 every year and never anything better.
