I don't think this kid will be a Tiger. I watched the story with amusement, but I don't see it in the cards. If it happens, color me astonished. I will not expend any effort on hoping for this to happen, as it seems too remote.

It's been proven over and over that you can win a National Championship without a blue chip quarterback. Krenzel at Ohio State, Mauck and Flynn at LSU are three that did it. P Manning, Troy Smith, and JR can only dream as they spend the big bucks.

    Let's try this angle.

IF, and that's a big IF, he trips to LSU, then of course we feel like we have a much more substantial chance.

Up until that point he is torn between Michigan and OSU. So to avoid the problem of deciding between the 2, he instead goes with LSU, who he is also now enamored with.

    Color me crazy.

but it's a lot easier if you have one.

see Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Tim Tebow.

I don't know, Mike Vick couldn't win it, some loser named Weinke did however.

    that's splitting hairs.

that's like saying Trent Dilfer is more equipped to lead a team on the big day than Dan Marino.

It's always good to have a big-time QB.

If Vick doesn't play that year, Va Tech wins 5 games max and loses to FSU by 100 in any game the two played in.

EDIT: a lot of you are judging these QBs by what they did in the pros.

Weinke was a 5-star recruit out of high school and won the Heisman.

Let's just agree that its all about TEAM.

LSU was indeed a team this season.

Scout now showing Oregon getting a visit on the 28th.

I think it will be great news if he goes to Oregon, that means he is still not done with the recruting process.

We'll know a lot on Monday.
