I watched every Olympics before they were born. So yes I did. Your argument is that there are judges. Football has judges who judge every play. Call a hold. Don't call a hold. Spot the ball here, spot the ball there. Flag this, don't flag that. The idea a gymnast can receive a subjective score is equally the same in a sport like football were a single referee can change the outcome of a game. You just don't know anything about Gymnastics to comment really. Moves are worth points. With replay and slow motion, its pretty damn accurate these days. Especially at the higher levels.
An activity does not have to require great physical condition in order to be a sport. Bowling is a sport. Darts are a sport. Why not pool? All of them require a high level of eye-hand coordination and steadyness of nerves in order to be good at and they all require that you actually best your opponent in head to head contests. Do you consider ping pong a sport? I was once one of the best ping pong players in the area. If I had been that good in football or basketball I could have played in the NFL or the NBA.
Any Russian judge will tell you they were impartial. Their girls won because they were Russian. The difference between pseudo sports officials and real sports officials is the in real sports the referees are there to enforce the rules, not to subjectively decide who wins and loses. After further review, the pass is incomplete. While the receiver did have both feet in bounds, he did not move gracefully enough. Saints will be penalized 10 style points.
Didn't say they did but let's face it, other than a rare fatty like Babe Ruth, sports are about athletic competition which means peak physical condition is required. When is the last time you saw a fat ass winning at tennis, swimming, track (not field), etc. No, and no. Hobbies, sure. Fun group activities, okay. Sports? Nah. I'd consider archery but not pool. Well so do eating contests but that isn't a sport either. No. Not badminton either. Handball or racquetball, yes.
Gymnastics does not have style points. You get a point value for your routine based on skill difficulty. You start off with whatever max that is. You are then deducted for your errors. Again, the more you talk about it the more you just look stupid. You would have cause to go after eSports.
