I was talking about in the US - I don't know about other countries. It should be that way worldwide tho.
This reminds me of something. My niece was having a conversation with her kids as they were arguing. It went like this: Boy: Sister is mean Mom: No she isn't. She's an angel. Boy: Even the devil was an angel. LOL
That's because we were the first church. Don't forget, he was there in the Garden of Gethsemane with Jesus the night before the crucifixion
"I was around when Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain. Made damn sure that Pilot washed his hands, sealed his fate." - Sympathy for the Devil
I thought the first church is defined in Acts and I don't recall any specific location or denomination, although I'm far from a religious scholar. In fact, it describes a temple so wouldn't that make Jews as the host of the first church? It wasn't until Paul's conversion after which multiple churches were built including a large one in Rome, 30 years after the Resurrection. Somewhere in the 4th century, Christianity became the official state religion of the Roman Empire. As a result, the church became a state church in addition to being a spiritual movement. And the Catholic Church was the result. At least that's my understanding from a historical perspective.
