1. Preseason polls are mostly harmless. For example, we started #4 with two of the teams in front of us on the schedule. Obviously, if we win out, we would pass both of those teams to get to #2, which is where we were for both of the BCSNCGs we won. Not worried.

More broadly, I can only think of two bowl eligible teams from major conferences that won all their games and were left out: Auburn in 04 and WVU some time in the mid 90s. It pretty much always works out. Watch: several teams will be undefeated in late October and all of the talking heads will start talking about "blowing up the BCS". Then, plenty of those teams will end up losing in early November leaving only, at most, 2 BCS conference teams undefeated.

Yeah, we won our last two MNCs with losses, but let's face it--can any team that has a loss really complain if they are left out? The preseason ranking really helped us in 07, but the 41 pt smackdown of VT meant a lot more.

    JMHO.

  2. Yep. Gonna have to knock the second coming of Bear Bryant right off that pedestal of his. Gonna be a tough game that one.
  3. Exactly. I mean ESPN was all like:

"Bama looked very impressive... against Kent St."
  4. Ain't that the truth!
  5. The Bama D is the Best because of the Saban factor

but I will take my Tiger D
  6. Until #1 and #2 play real teams instead of high school teams, they shouldn't be there.
  7. I do believe if Bama and LSU were flip flopped in this scenario, that Bama would climb all the way to #1 in the polls.
  8. If Bama did what we did to Oregon they would get all of the 1st place votes.
  9. Is this what you believe, or are you voicing the public/media perception?
