We will know tomorrow at about 2 PM. Auburn must take over 2nd place in both polls in order to have a chance. If the voters aren't convinced yet, they won't be after the Alabama or Tennessee games.

If Auburn can get just a 4-6 point lead on OU in the human polls tomorrow, then I think they can build momentum and get that 30-40 point lead they appear to need to take over #2 in the BCS.

Sounds like most of us are at least tacitly supporting Auburn. I am. USC is probably going to beat UCLA and end up in the Orange. I'd like to see Auburn as their opponent. The punk-10 isn't going to have much to b*tch about this year. USC in NCG and Cal in the Rose Bowl. So, west coasters, STFU.

I heard Bob Stoopes was trying to run up the score against NEB tonight for BCS purposes. May heard him in the polls, backlash? I don't know. Someone is going to get snubbed. At least USC made out with a fake championship. Whoever gets snubbed this year probably won't have that.

That's what I am have been looking for since September. OU vs AU in the the Orange. SEC west sends one two years in a row and counting.

Notre Dame game vs. USC may be critical in saving the ND Coaches job. I just don't know how a 6-5 campaign with 2 straight losses to end the season will bode for Mr. Willingham.

I honestly think the only way AU gets the AP title (assuming they don't go to the Orange Bowl) is to absolutely shellack whomever they face in the Sugar Bowl and have the USC/OU game be a low-scoring, mistake and turnover-filled game.

To be brutally honest, USC's win over Michigan was far "prettier" than LSU's over OU and the result was an "AP title" for SC. Why should AU get any different treatment?

FWIW, the updated CFN.com bowl projections put Auburn into the Orange Bowl...and an undefeated Oklahoma versus an undefeated Utah in the Fiesta.

Wow, when's the last time you had TWO major bowls matching undefeated teams? That sounds kinda cool to me, personally.

If USC makes it to the NC game and wins no way in hell would the AP vote someone else #1, you can bank on that.
The only hope for Auburn and OU is that USC falls in one of
their last two games or one of these teams is going to be on the outside looking in.
The sad thing is OU and AU will play the "extra" game this
year and if USC does not stumble that game won't matter..

    REVISED BCS projections:

    ...................AP............Coaches.....KM. ..JS...RB...ST..PW..WC...
    OU........1536.. .945.....1435... .941....2.....1.....1.... .1....1.....1...1.000 = .962
    Auburn...1536. .945.....1433.... .940....3....4.....3..... .3....4.....3.....910 = .932

They close a .55 deficit to .30, almost half in just 1 week, with 2 more weeks of games to make a difference (3 weeks total).

The BCS has found themselves in the exact same predicament as last year. Looks like Auburn will end up #2 in both AP and Coaches, but #3 ranked OU will make it to the title game due to the computer polls. End of BCS. Let's celebrate everyone!

Thanks for the great analysis. Can you venture a reason as to why Auburn is ranked so low in the computers? Putting them number 4 seems strange, after the GA win.
