Guys, if we're going to dream about passing USC in one of the polls, at least do the math right. If that happens (and it is a huge if), we pick up 1 full point on them, not just a half. That would compensate for the QW points lost when UGA drops out of the BCS top 10 due to the SEC-CG loss.

Seems to me that the athletic diirectors need to reverse their decision and vote for the team from the east that will go to Atlanta. Therefore I think the best scenario would be for Florida, Georgia and Tenn. to all win out and LSU faces Tenn. in the championship game.

lp brings up an interesting question. Should the SEC do everything in it's power to put a team in the SEC title game (all things being equal in the East) to give LSU a shot at the NC, if we win it?

I'm not sure how I feel about it, as long as the East conference winner is in it with us fairly.

This extra conference game will be brought up again this year. Every year they complain about how it clouds the national picture. If Okla loses that game, or if we win it, it will be brought up again and how the PAc-10 and Big-10 have an unfair advantage. And that might be the reason we jump SC, which might change that for future seasons (having the Big/Pac 10 adopt conference title games). For all the complaints we hear about East Coast Bias from the PAC 10 . . . a west coaster won the heisman last year, and most of the over ranked teams have come from that conference (Ari St, Wash St, Ore St). They even called Ole Miss a runt (ranked 15), while SC beat a very bad UCLA team that has not beaten SC in 5 years.

It will all work out in the end if we win out.

OU has a SOS of 10, and LSU has a SOS of 72. They won't lose 62 spots.

Yes, the SEC should do everything in its power to give the conference a shot at playing for the NC. However, since this is not politically correct, there is no chance in hell of that happening.
