Exactly. I work a number of trade shows and I can 100% without a doubt tell you the big companies hire a LOT of what we call "Booth Candy". The grist in this mill is multi faceted . Let’s first look at the facts - Lsu apparently old school as always blew off the regs and stipulation that had the HR/Title IX crotch watchers patrol unit reduced to nothing more than a perfunctory name on a door in which their awareness meetings / training sessions were probably bull sessions held on Fridays when everyone cut out early to go get some po boys and beer. The result of their being lax was getting caught with their britches down ( figuratively and/ or literally) . Now will come the lawsuits , the sanctimony from Women’s Groups and all the other left wing horse shit that can be tossed. The good news is this too shall pass . The better news I don’t see this affecting recruiting at least not in men sports .As for women’s sports - who cares? Bottom line is LSU as usual was slow on the draw understanding accepting and implementing the new rules etc regarding Title IX issues in this territory. This should surprise nobody . Uhh these were student workers who were when Les deemed them not hot enough they were ostensibly fired. You're cool with that? He's the highest paid state employee and he was using his position of authority to some pretty unscrupulous ends. Funny thing is he and Petrino didn't get along in the post game handshake but they were not so far off from one another. No excuse for him using his office and influence to play God with people's livelihoods all to serve his own personal ends. No wonder Saban lapped him yearly.
The consenting adults angle you propose here is off base. First no evidence there was consent . Second the teacher / prof / coach / student relationship is one that can’t involve the student who is in the subordinate position being coerced or made to feel uncomfortable in any manner. There’s boundaries .
Les Miles is and will always be a loser in my book. I saw it in 2009 when he threw Jordan under the bus. He pretended to act like he didn’t tell Jefferson to spike the ball in the Ole Miss one scrubs debacle. The guy was only at LSU because he could recruit and hearing what he did he obviously couldn’t even do that.
