Regarding the Summer Olympics, there is usually something historic to watch.

In Athens 2004, my favorite was the Michael Phelps (USA) vs. Ian Thorpe (Australia) show down. Phelps was competing for medals in all kinds of swimming events. He ended up winning six Golds and two Bronzes, which tied him for the most medals ever won in a single Olympics. It was awesome to watch, especially since the kid was just 19. He broke at least one world record along the way.

The other memory I liked from Athens 2004 was Texas girl Carly Patterson winning the women’s all-around gymnastics competition, becoming the first American to capture the title since Mary Lou Retton's historic performance in Los Angeles 1984. The fun part about watching Carly win was that Carly was such a sweetheart, while the favored Russian, Svetlana Khorkina, was such a b*tch. Of course, the Russian claimed she got robbed.

I missed out on Sydney 2000. I thought the Olympics were boring at that point in my life.

But Atlanta 1996 was a great one. It featured the US v Russia female gymnastics show down. That's when Kerri Strug, after just tearing two ligaments in her ankle, landed that final vault with a solid landing before collapsing to her hand and knees in pain. Remember the moment when the USA coach carried her to the award ceremony to collect the Gold Medal in front of a rousing ovation from the packed house?

Atlanta 1996 also had Michael Johnson's incredible performance in track. Remember he came out wearing that custom-designed pair of gold-colored Nike racing spikes? His mind-blowing performance in the 200 meters final was one of the most dominant Olympic performances in history.

Unfortunately, I missed out on Barcelona 1992, because I thought the Olympics was boring at the time as well. So I didn't get to watch USA's "Dream Team" in basketball (Jordon, Byrd, Magic, etc.) completely blow-out every single team they played in route to the Gold Medal.

Anyway, moments like those are why the Summer Olympics is so great. And it only comes around once every four years.

NLOI day is coming up. It's a big one for the Buckeyes as we're anxiously awaiting Terrelle Pryor's decision along with that of Josh Jenkins.

Brewster and Shugarts start classes at Ohio State on 1/7/08 so we don't have to wait for NLOI day for those two.

How is LSU shaping up on recruiting for next year? OSU has 5 commits for the class of 2009 already.

Hey, just because the football season is ending it doesn't mean that we can't get an early start on next year.

You could watch the NBA as the San Antonio Spurs go for their 5th championship in 10 years, further establishing themselves as one of the best franchises in NBA history...Also, because the New Orleans Hornets are pretty good and Chris Paul is having an MVP type season...Let's just hope the can stay injury free for the rest of the season.

I'm hoping ours will still be Thad Matta. Talk about a keeper! He recruits the best and hasn't won less than 20 in a season yet. This year may challenge that record but if Koufos stays another year the'll be loaded next year.

Another big NHRA fan here. I still miss having the old Cajun Nationals down here every year.

I bet most people here don't care for it at all, but i am also a Soccer fanatic and the European leagues run till May so I will at least something to keep me busy.
