Papers obtained by subpoena showed 73 people got more than $1m each while five received more than $4m.

So was AIG just not paying their employees? And 73 employees receiving over a mil a piece? Sounds like a bonus to me.

I work for Dow Chemical, we have bonuses and we had a 3 year retention package. Bonuses were cut below what we were entitled to, and the retention package was pro rated this year, and disallowed for the last year (next year was the last year of a 3 year package)

Drastic actions in response to drastic circumstances. Promises were made, but things change and you have to adjust.

And we didn't get any bailout money. C'mon Sabanfan, whatever you call it, that money just shouldn't have been paid.

A year ago did they ask you to work for $1 and promise to pay you your salary and bonus in a year if you agreed to do that?

    Didn't think so.

As far as people who were paid as usual, no they shouldn't get bonuses.

Correct. And the actual bonuses that were paid were in the Commercial Insurance Division that got NO federal money and continue to operate as we always have. But, women will gossip at the fence and I have no control over that. I just wish I would see this type of outrage about the proposed $10 Trillion deficit that the chosen one is inflicting on us.

no, and that's a stupid comparison, I can't go a year with no salary. These guys who worked for a dollar a year are already incredibly wealthy. My point was, we still got paid quite a bit less than was expected due to an economic crisis.

As far as those poor millionares, please, you're about to make me bust out crying.

And there it is. No one deserves to make the kind of money they make. It's not fair that those guys are rich. We should all be equal, blah blah blah.

that's not what I said at all. All I said was that they don't need anyone defending them. The fact that they can work for free for a year ought to tell you something. It's still a sign of charactor that they are willing to try and staighten out this mess. Could it be because they have profited so handsomely from those questionable practices?

I don't care how much they make, but I'm going to point out that the boom of the last few years pretty much missed the middle class, who's wages were stagnet.

Class warfare was waged, kemosabe, and the rich won.

I'm not in a union, we're a salaried operation. Besides, I'm in technical support, which is a non-union postion even in our union plants
