I am no more beholden to them than I am responsible for the welfare of the poor. Poor people don't pay taxes and are a huge burden on society. We need those lazy idle rich bastards to help with that burden. Hate on em all you want, but they pay more than we do and I'm not going to get my drawers bunched up over relative percentages.

So if the Federal government can dictate who runs a private company will the next step be for the Fed to withhold funding and having elected officials being forced to resign if the party in power finds their policies in contrast to Washington's... They already use funding to force compliance on a number of issues, so why not just go full ahead with this one voice agenda....

I agree, and their burden shouldn't be lower than mine, percentage wise.

Actually, I never called them lazy, idle, or bastards, but they shouldn't pay less in taxes as a percentage of income than people who make their money on a payroll.

You pound on the poor, the welfare abusers taking your tax dollars, what's the diff? How's that worse than the very rich paying less of a burden for goverment services?

I agree - flat tax. Better yet - no income tax and just tax luxury spending.

    Liberty. Beautiful thing.

by luxury tax, I assume you mean consumption tax. I personally would benefit from this as I am a tight ass, but I don't think it's best for our country. Any tax that penalizes people for spending money goes against common sense in my opinion. So in the long run I would not be better off.

I think I could support that. The question is, how high would it have to be.
