thats funny. perfect analysis of liberals in general. don't care about reality, only the perception that they are the good guy who cares. phonies.
When a site is just too absurd to be believed--I tend not to believe it. A googlesearch shows that this Michael Crook guy is apparently a white supremacist who has a history of similar attention-getting stunts. Last year he did "Citizens Against the Troops" website and a white supremacist site. He is just a weenie yanking people's chains. Museum of Hoaxes Phony 'Forsake Our Troops' Site A new shock site called Forsake Our Troops is doing the rounds. It purports to be the homepage of an organization "dedicated to the notion that our nation's military is grossly overcompensated, at the expense of the American taxpayers." In actuality, it's just an attempt to be outrageous. Apparently it was created by a White Power activist called Michael Crook (according to the True or Better blog). Crook seems to have a history of doing things like this. Last year he created a fake group called Citizens Against the Troops. Seems like a charming fellow. Of course, this character could insist that he sincerely believes everything he's saying. But I would contend that he only sincerely wants to be obnoxious. (via Malkin Watch) Update: This is the same Michael Crooks who once claimed to find a soldier's digital camera at a football game and told the media that he would return it for a 'finder's fee' of $1000. Check out this interview he did with the Dread Pundit Bluto. Dread Pundit Bluto A photo of the weenie himself. I don't plan to lose any sleep over this idiot.
I have to go to Walter Reed in MD next month. NY is not that far away. :thumb: I'll be coming down to Quantico, I'll look you up. Have I mentioned how much I miss Quantico?
Sort of like Bosnia, Rex? Was that necessary? What did they ever do to us? BTW, why DIDN'T you volunteer for that little adventure?
Reading all this makes me think of something LtGen Mattis said to Marines in Iraq: "When you men get home and face an anti-war protester, look him in the eyes and shake his hand. Then, wink at his girlfriend to let her know that you know she knows she's dating a p***y." :usaflagwa
Thanks for the research Red. That was my initial gut reaction (who could believe in something so repugnant?), but I could not see any upfront evidence on the site itself that might tip someone off that this was a gag. I knew about the deal with the "finders fee" with the Marine losing his camera at the Eagles game, and drew a line between the two; this guy had (and has) serious beef with the military. Which may be true. I don't know. I will definitely agree that he's desperate for attention. Even if a hoax, he has a photo of a dead U.S. soldier on his site. "Poor taste" doesn't even begin to cover it. It's still repugnant.
