Damn Bro,did you even get to bed last night? Thanks for your numbers crunching. I need to know if I should get a flight to N.O. Jan. 7. :LSU231: :LSU231: :LSU231: :LSU231: :LSU231: :LSU231: :LSU231:
Yeah a lot of voters would have to leave OSU at #3 in order for them to be out and Vtech and LSU would have to finish with a lot of 1 and 2 votes. I just don't see that happening. They are a fraud but voters will be compelled to cast a first place vote for them. Don't be surprised to see 5 different teams with a first place vote today. OSU, LSU, VTech, Georgia and USC
Once Wv's kicker missed 2 fg's to start the game I just knew it was going to be one of those kind of games, like we've seen all season. Once Pat White went out I knew Pitt had a good chance but when he came back in I was scared to death he was going to win it in the final moments!
It's really as simple as they are a one-loss team and all the other candidates are two-loss teams. We know that their schedule is SO poor that it should probably override the 1 loss difference (as evident by the computer results so far), but the humans won't be able to make that concession.
Adjusted projections based on Sagarin being out: 1. VTech........... .970 2. LSU.............. .950 3. Ohio State..... .900 4. Missouri......... .840 5. Kansas........... .820 6. Georgia.......... .790 6. Oklahoma....... .790 8. USC............... .700
So maybe it will work out in the end. I mean we did play and beat VT badly and I think that should count for something. If we didn't play them this year that would've created a really bad issue.
islstl ... you're famous. You're first post was copy and pasted on another popular forum. He didn't mention you by name, but said this: EDIT: Damn, I slow ... just figured out who you are on that other board.
islstl - I know your one concern was how the human polls turn out which would determine our fate. the harris poll had us at #5, 2 spots above VT. Obviously, I assume we'll continue to be above them when the harris is released today. However, the results are flipped in the coaches poll with VT two spots above us. Is our fate contingent upon the coaches actually doing some homework and looking at both teams' entire body of work (which would include our 41 pt. blow out)? otherwise, If this were a normal week in the middle of the season, if both teams win, LSU and VT would move up in step, without LSU passing VT. Is that what this is going to boil down to - the coaches actually looking at the full season scores versus what they typically do? another concern is that VT could get some sentimental votes as the result of their tragedy.
I haven't posted this anywhere else but TF. I signed an exclusive with Brett to only post on here and I get a lifetime supply of those famous tigerforums donuts. That's our arrangement.
