I think you're right. I believe this will be another "17-10"-type of game. ...But I think both teams will score more than what they each did back in September. 27 UGA 20
Not that I don't think Gibson isn't good--'cause he certainly is one of the better WR's in the conference, but you're not giving Corey Webster enough credit if you think "no one can cover Gibson 1 vs 1". Granted, not many DB's in the SEC can, but Webster surely is one of the ones that can.
Except South Carolina (1 for 19 yards), Auburn (2 for 50 yards), or Florida (2 for 19 yards)... We ain't Clemson or Middle Tennessee State or Kentucky.
Bryan McClendon blocked the punt against Tech coming off of the runner. Just like DeCory Bryant did last year in the SEC CG. It's timed! These players don't rush from the straight set. If LSU doesn't account for it, the same will happen this Saturday.
UGA may have a great plan for getting punt blocks. I don't know. But what I take exception to is your notion that Ole Miss exposed a way to block punts on LSU. That is BS.
Whatever UGA fan said no one could cover Gibson 1-1...get real...I love Fred but he isn't that great of a WR this year....sad but true this year
We'll see if you sing that tune once he goes up against Travis Daniels. Corey Webster is the LSU DB that gets all the press, but mano-a-mano, I want Daniels on the best the opposition has got.
I thought DeCory Bryant is out for the season? I can assure you that LSU's gameplan is not to attack the same as they did in the first game. If you think LSU will not blitz and often, I believe you are wrong. This is two very good teams and each team has plenty to play for. LSU has more to lose than UGA. I believe the Tigers will be relaxed, focused and will play hard for 60 minutes. I don't believe either team will put up 40+ points, I do believe that LSU wins big. I will predict, that you will see a preview of next years SECCG as well, as long as both teams are healthy. As for returning players that I read earlier that UGA have coming back. LSU has 14 that took a RS this season (from the #1 class in the nation) another sign of things to come, if signing day were today, LSU would be #1 again. Before anyone brings up Mack Brown and his fine recruiting classes, he can't carry a clip board for Nick Saban. LSU by 14-17 points. That is no disrespect to UGA.
I don't know if you have ever suffered from a hamstring injury or not, but it is a very frustrating injury. Fred is just now hitting full throttle. His presence on the field alone will make it difficult for LSU to blitz as much because they can't afford to leave single coverage down the middle with Fred's speed and Greene's accuracy at the 30 to 45 yard range. I don't think that Saban will gamble with having Hunt out of the picture on deep coverage all that much. It is much more likely that Saban will give up the short flat routes and will hope that everyone tackles well on the first hit.
