I really can't wrap my head around all the love for the gators. They were, in many instances last year, far more painful than us to watch on offense. Driskel reminds me of a less-talented Jefferson (at least JJ had a strong arm), and this a team that needed a miracle to beat USL and got embarrassed in the Sugar. Yes, they beat us, mainly because we stepped on our own peckers the entire afternoon. But, in looking at the entire body of work, I just don't see a team that should be feared. I think we beat the shit out of them.
It was. And even when we did something right, we managed to screw it up (ODB fumble, Copeland dropped pass, etc.). Minter showed up, though. Games like that make me wonder just who in the hell was calling the plays for the SC and bama games.
WE going undefeated along with the over time game in Tuscaloosa against Alabama.. Win the national championship against Ohio State.
No. see, we did this before and it bit us in the ass. I don't want a repeat of 2011 unless it ends differently.
I wasn't calling the prediction the "pussiest," but the mentality, on the edge of football season being the "pussiest." We may lose a few games, but we've only lost 4 games in a season once and 5 games once under Les Miles. I just don't see this team being one of his three worst. There isn't a team on our schedule that is a sure loss, not a one. I wouldn't even call any of them a "probable" loss. So, that gets us down to possible losses, and I don't see 4 losses out of the ones that are realistically "possible." That being said, any team can lose to anybody on any given Saturday. But as a fan, I don't ever count out the Tigers--and certainly not before the season even starts.
We are gonna run through, over and around anybody that gets in our way. Just when they think they can stack the box BAM! Over the top with a deep ball!
Remember this was just after the O line was decimated. To have any O at all that game would have been a double miracle. It was also Mett's first time on the road in the SEC. There was so much going against us that game it should not have been that close. The grit the D showed (the whole team in reality) is why I don't see us losing more than two games and likely 1 or 0 this year. I was waiting on reports on the DL and what is coming out of camp is more than encouraging. I say we surprise some people!
Of the top teams on our schedule, I rank them as such: Bama - our evil twins in the SEC. We fight each other to a stalemate every year. Georgia - It seems to me that we trade wins with these guys, and it's their turn. (BIG Gap) Florida - I see a strong defensive team coming out of Gainsville. Nothing we can't handle, though. Ole Miss - Other than the facts that they are getting better and the game kinda falls at a bad time for us, we must not forget that Ole Miss has a sneaky way of finding a way to either pull a W out of their asses or at least give us a good scare. aTm / Miss State - Honestly, I think A&M takes a nosedive this year, and I put them on the same level as Miss State in terms of threat level. I think we'll lose ONE hard-fought game out of the top two, and then simply drop one of the bottom teams to finish at 10-2 with a Cotton Bowl bid.
