71% of his last season TD passes came in those two situations. Oregon - you have been warned

The last 3 Major OOC Quarterbacks LSU has faced sure seem to have big opening days against us as well though. TJ Yates last year, Jake Locker had a nice game against us, and Sam Keller threw for something like 460 yards on us.

Opening days frighten me.... anything can happen. Just ask our Duck friends...

that being said, LSU 31 Oregon 30

Substance over style. Oregon has a system and LSU will have a plan. I know Chavis has run a 4-2-5, extra safety, not cornerback, and when they catch up to the speed of the game, trench warfare is the difference.

I was looking at an article defining the strength programs of both and LSU has 18 players squating over 500 lbs, Michael Ford and Minter tie at 583. Man, JJ barely missed at 495. Oregon reports one O-lineman, Mark Asper at 500 max and one d-guy Isaac Remington, leading their line at 445. With a little more work, JJ could snatch the title.

I don't expect a weight lifting contest to break out, but it will get down to hand to hand combat, sooner rather than later. I'll take the bigger, stronger. When LSU makes it a physically game, substance beats style.

I predict that Oregon has never played against a defense like this. I predict that LSU has bigger, faster, stronger athletes and I agree with alot of what Tusktimes mentioned in the post above.

    LSU-31
    Oregon-24

I don't disagree with any of these points, but everyone seems to think Oregon only has a scheme and not a game plan. Obviously that isn't true. They have watched film and will be as prepared as Les miles. Chip Kelly is big on preparation. Should be fun and a crazy environment!

BEST OOC this season imo. I cannot wait. I'm cautiously optimistic and do feel we will win. I'd love for our defense to put a smack down on the Duck offense but I was one of the few last year calling the Auburn/Duck bowl a close one and Oregon's offense/offensive schemes skeer me.

I thought it was Masoli that made the offense go but with the kid that took his place the offense didn't seem to miss a beat. I remember watchingh Masoli give USC's defense fits and hanging 40+ on them.

First of all, I am not a big believer in using last year’s stats to put towards this year’s games. But Jefferson has shown to play better in domes on turf. He also just has a swagger about him in big games, especially against Alabama the last 2 years.

Last Year in Domes on Turf (2 Games)
    Jefferson: 25 – 40 for 309 yards & 5 touchdowns

Rest of the Season (11 Games)
    Jefferson: 93-179 for 1102 yards & 2 touchdowns

In my predictions on the other thread I show Oregon winning this game 31 to 23. Even though I stated there and will state now that I have absolutely no idea, there are so many intangibles for us right now it’s ridiculous. I am worried about Oregon, I do not underestimate them in any way. They are a very dangerous team with a lot of speed and big play ability. My heart says LSU and right now my head is un-certain. I pulled the figures for 31-23 right out of my a$$.
