All good points. Except that Scott up the middle more than 7 times will create space for Dickson over the middle and some mismatches for Byrd, Lafell and Toliver. And LSU has a different offense than it had in 2004 and 2006 - different coordinator, different talent. I don't see 35 points, but I certainly don't think it's automatic that LSU doesn't put up 24 or so. Remember, there's talent all over the field these days that can score, including defensive backs on picks and special teams runbacks.
Hell. I'm nervous about all of the rest of the schedule except Arkansas. Tulane is playing tough. Troy put up over 60 in a shutout. MSU played smashmouth with Auburn. Bama is inconsistent, but capable. South Carolina gave Georgia a scare. Florida is just really good. Ole Miss is not going to roll over. After last night's lack of QB performance, I think we're in for another cardiac-arresting year.
Two good defenses and relatively new QBs, it's gonna be the team that can force the other side into a mistake. Punting will be a good option.
i say we either blow them out...or....with our recent history with the officials ...somehow Auburn wins a close one.If it is a close game,I just think the calls will go against us and we lose.
Then there is the thing we all love about college football, some new kid EMERGES! Don't know who he will be (if anybody), but this early in the season, there can be that wildcard, like glen smith in the 68 sugar bowl against Wyoming (i know most of you don't member that one...).
LSU - 2 Auburn 2 Goes into 5 overtimes where its nothing but field goals. As neither team can gain a yard. 17-17 after 5 overtimes LSU wins as Auburn finally misses.
I am predicting that we each have great defenses and it will be tough to score. The main thing that worries me is in games like this one turnovers, field position, and special teams usually decide games. Auburn has a good fg kicker, punt returner, and home field. Im going to be holding my breath every time our special teams go on the field.
