That's not being a weeny, that just shows your love and passion for LSU. Heck, I get a little emotional when I hear pregame and the alma mater for the first time each year. It reminds me of the line in the movie Rudy when his dad (Ned Beatty) walks out and sees the field at Notre Dame Stadium and says, "This is the most beautiful sight these eyes have ever seen!" We all show our love for the Tigers in different ways!
it will get to ya... ole miss last year my first time back in TS in many years...when the band came out to play.... it will make you well up a bit.... nothing like it in college football..... I think I cried when LSU won the sugar bowl in 01 vs Ill. that or I was really drunk...I was way to pumped up after the OU game.... :geauxtige
Well, I haven't been in TS in many years...my wife, never. She's from the Bay Area and is originally a Stanford fan. She became a big LSU fan 3 years ago when we had to move just south of Auburn. She couldn't stand the Auburn fans. Tide fans were fine, but those others were just not tolerable. Now she's a huge LSU fan and she's attending her first game this Friday. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Here's a little workout to get you ready - watch this repeatedly until you can get through it without tearing up, getting goosebumps, etc...OR until it's just finally time to head to the game: http://lsumaryland.org/LSU BAND.WMV
don't miss the band coming down the hill, should be at about 12:00. It'll look like this(cpy and paste): http://www.rcdavis.com/lsu.html
Well, I watched/listened 6 times so far and I get the same giggly/teared up emotion each time. Man I can't wait to be there Friday! GEAUX Tigers!
Now that's cool. Hopefully you'll be seated around Tiger fans. If you end up sitting next some pigfans, well..... soap and water. (If you know what I mean:wink: )
Yea, hopefully. We're in Section 12 on the northside. If I remember correctly, that's the same side as the band and student section, but just on the opposite corner. I watched that video a few times already...I don't know what I'm going to do come Friday.
Living here in Texas and the kids being involved in sports and other activities, we just don't make it to many games any more. But, my 12 year old daughter will be attending her first LSU game on Friday. She's been watching the games on TV with me the past few years and has really become a fan. She's pumped! My 14 year old son will be there also. Not his first, though. He's a HUGE LSU football fan (I'm so proud!). Mom and Dad grew up in BR and attended LSU, so we've been to plenty of games. Anyway, I'm planning to get to campus no later than 9:30 for a tour of the campus, see Mike's home, the GBFTL, etc. Can't wait! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!
