Thanks to all for their thoughts and prayers. When I first heard this morning about this it was like a punch in the stomach. I was in Baton Rouge during 9/11, and although it was tough to go through, I now have a better feeling for what it must have been like to have been an American going through this.

Things are still pretty tough in London tonight. A lot of people are stuck in the city because they have no way of going home (public transport is shut down and some of the roads are jammed with traffic or blocked completely). England has always been a tight nation (50 million people squashed into a land the size of Louisiana), however, I think we will get tighter after this.

Not to get political but after 9/11 we Americans felt scarred that the fight was coming to us (everyone was so skittish they went out and bought plastic and duck tape). But the Bush and Blair Administration has done such a good job of taking the fight to the terrorist we have become "comfortable" in our own land again.

I bet if asked in a poll today about whether or not we should be fighting the terrorist in Iraq and Afghanistan the citizenry of both our nations would be swinging back in favor of the war after being lulled into a false sense of security over the last 3 years. The successful offensive and defensive efforts of our countries has caused some (a majority if you believe the polls) to believe we do not really need to be taking the fight to the irrational terrorist.

Sez, I understand your anger and am glad you understand our anger back on 9/11. I am sorry this happened to the people of London, but I hope it awakens them (and some of us) that the terrorist don’t care… This war is not over… Either we defend ourselves with a strong Defense AND a strong Offense or it will happen again. A strong Defense is great but it alone won’t win this war (London has some of the best security and most aware citizens in the world and this still happened).

Love and Protect your Family, Defend you Neighbors and Kill the terrorist on their turf not ours. Don’t give them a chance to come knocking.

I've seen some people blaming Bush for this attack saying that he has indirectly caused it...

Sez, this isn't the feeling in London is it???

Keep your hopes up, things are just hectic over there...you'll hear from all your friends and family before too long.

Everyone should leave politics out of this thread.

I think he did hear from them, thats why I felt it was okay to bring up politics. Notice, I didn't call anyone an idiot. I just asked what people in London were saying because I had seen reports where people were throwing Bush's name around...

It's for this reason that I think atheists just have to be mistaken. Strange how God works, pal. Glad your family is safe.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. Would be glad to discuss the politics side of this some other time, however, I personally hate politics and most politicians.

To answer a question from another poster, I was born in London, went to university in the south west of england, came to LSU in 98 on a one year academic scholarship (Dinardo's horror year), somehow managed to stay here ever since.

My prayers are with you buddy. Stay strong and true to your religion. It must be extremely hard to go about your daily life with people assuming your up to something because of your faith. All that matters is that you have faith. Now, we have one more thing in common. Now we are both wanting to hunt down those cowards who do this.

I remember the feeling I felt on 9/11. I'll never forget where I was or who I was around. It'll will be with me forever. I was confused and angry at the beginning but soon realized that the people we were dealing with weren't human. They were souless, cowards whose sole purpose in life was make people suffer. All they want is people to live in the standards they live in because they don't want to except the fact that they don't have the power anymore. They are stuck in there ways and don't want to learn to except other cultures and evolve with those other cultures. They are cowards; brainwashed cowards who can't accept that freedom for all is the best way to go.

    Your in my prayers.
