That is plan B probably, but it ain't going to easy to take insurance away from 45 million people and still get their votes. The GOP always seems to imagine that once they get power in Congress that it will never go back to the Democrats. But history has shown that the Republicans repeatedly fail to stay in power long because they overreach and swing the pendulum back the other way, as they last did in 2006.
Mine will be going down 8% in July. In the last 20 years with the insurance companies controlling medical costs, expenses have risen at rates far beyond inflation. Keeping the status quo is not an option. If the Republican do manage to overturn the Law they will quickly re-institute many parts of it because they have little choice. They will rename it something patriotic and implemet their own plan. Romney has a record of doing so in the past. His track record shows that he's not as conservative as he talked in the primaries
Fine, but Obama promised he'd do the national health care deal with no new taxes, and the Supreme Court just said that's exactly what it is. Why do you only object to one side of the aisle not living up to their rhetoric?
there are no new taxes unless you choose to not carry insurance coverage. the right likes to make out like these free loaders are poor people but they are not. most poor people already receive some type of medicare or medicaid. it's actually middle to upper income individuals who refuse to get health insurance but still go to the emergency room to get treated when they are sick and never pay the bill. I would much rather have this bill tax those individuals so at least you and I, who carry health insurance, do not have to pay for the free loaders. I am never going to pay a tax becaues I will always carry health insurance.
If you make 250K plus you will see a string of new taxes. Not to mention the random tax on various public services that the government thinks is unhealthy.... AKA: http://money.cnn.com/2010/03/24/news/economy/tanning_tax/ "To help fund the $940 billion health care overhaul, a 10% tax on individuals receiving indoor tanning services was tacked on, and the initiative is expected to generate $2.7 billion over ten years." I think some of you on this board really just watch MSNBC and do no research at all...
you are incorrect my friend. I carry health insurance and it is not a cadillac plan so there are no new taxes. I do not cook myself in a tanning bed so I will not be taxed there. I realize you do not want to believe that this act could possibly result in anything less than utter disaster but I believe history will prove you wrong. Further, IF I did have to pay an extra nickel in taxes for the betterment of society I would be okay.
you mean it is all over right wing bloggers and FOX news. might want to stop accusing others of not watching the "right" channels when you are obviouly guilty of burying your head in the right-wing sand pit. again, I understand your desire to make this into something evil......even though the entire concept was the off spring of the Mitt Romney model in Massachusets......even though Republicans hung their proverbial hats on an individual mandate for decades before it became the position of Obama.....even though Republicans claim to be champions of personal responsibility and individual liberties yet they cannot support an act that enforces personal responsibility and punishes free loaders who are mooching off the system. your turn......prove me wrong.
