You have it wrong. It is a tax that only freeloaders have to pay. The rich have fabulous insurance, the middle class has good insurance, and the poo will get subsidized insurance. It is only the freeloaders that expect free treatment in the emergency rooms or avoid insurance in their healthy twenties and only want to pick it up when they age and have regular bills. Meanwhile the middle class working people who have always owned insurance get to pick up the tabs with higher costs.

No they are not. Only insurance evaders will be penalized. Do your taxes go up when the IRS penalizes tax evaders? Nope.

Not at all. Instead of being forced to go to a state charity hospital or a free county clinic (which is socialized medicine if there ever was), they will receive insurance vouchers that they can use at the hospital or clinic of their choice. This will expand private sector business and reduce the number of government facilities and employees. The private insurance companies will also receive millions of new customers.

Better read it. Income levels will determine if one is eligible for subsidized insurance vouchers. Everyone that already has insurance will not have their coverage affected.

It already works that way. It always has. But they also get better coverage.

You might wanna read as well, plans are changing. If you plan fails to cover what the government wants it to cover, guess what, your plan is now changed or will be required to change and if your employer deems it better to take the new "tax increase" guess what happens next..

Income from self-employment and wages of single individuals in excess of $200,000 annually will be subject to an additional tax of 0.9%. The threshold amount is $250,000 for a married couple filing jointly (threshold applies to joint compensation of the two spouses), or $125,000 for a married person filing separately.[80]

In addition, an additional Medicare tax of 3.8% will apply to unearned income, specifically the lesser of net investment income or the amount by which adjusted gross income exceeds $200,000 ($250,000 for a married couple filing jointly; $125,000 for a married person filing separately.)[81]

There is more, but you get the idea, but more can be found here : http://www.atr.org/comprehensive-list-tax-hikes-obamacare-a5758

    Hmm, wonder why....o_O

This bill doesn't really do much of anything. If you are dirt poor, you still get a free ride. If you are rich, you still pay for everyone else..

It just creates a new government run system to micro-manage a private sector service..

You know, protecting the people and all.

You are jsut being obtuse. It is common knowledge that the act contains a tax surcharge for 200K/250K single/married filers. There is also an additional medicare surcharge for these individuals.

There is also a new 40% tax on the "Cadillac" health care plans... They really hate rich people...

    This one is funny though....

"Tax on Indoor Tanning Services($2.7 billion/July 1, 2010): New 10 percent excise tax on Americans using indoor tanning salons"
