I don't want to come off sounding harsh, because I always like to debate "what ifs," but that would be ABSOLUTELY INSANE! No way we'd leave a conference we have 80+ years of history with to go join an inferior league that's only been around for 16 years. The only schools you might EVER pry from the SEC would be South Carolina and Arkansas, and that's because they are the youngbloods.

BTW, if you want an SEC team that might actually leave to go to the salvaged Big XII, look at Arkansas. Lots of history there.

not just no, but hell no. not us. tcu would be a good fit for the lil dozen. arky would be a good fit for the lil dozen. but arky wouldnt move either. with the strenghth of the sec and with the 12 being so ripe for being raided, who knows when it will happen again. if that conf doesnt implode now, it will sooner or later.

and i dont know the revenues of the lil 12 but the sec has got to be a bigger cash cow.

Hmm. Supposedly Texas A&M will not play LSU either because LSU dropped them once back in the 80's and hurt their feelings. What goes around comes around.

A&M hasn't finished in the Associated Press Top 25 this century and has had trouble enough competing in the Big 12. The Aggies also have had their hands full with their most recent encounters with the SEC. Tennessee whipped A&M 38-7 in the Cotton Bowl five years ago, and last season, Arkansas (47-19) and Georgia (44-20) both beat up on 6-7 A&M.
Neither the Razorbacks nor Bulldogs competed for a title in their respective SEC divisions.

We can cherry-pick a weak decade, like LSU in the 90's, but a team that's going to become a member of the very stable SEC must be considered on it's entire record. A&M may not enter the SEC in the upper tier, but it will most assuredly be able to play in the SEC. I really don't want to add more upper-tier teams anyway. Fans already grumble that we must share the SEC championship with other top SEC teams. Who need to make the fratricide problem worse? Like Arkansas and South Carolina, A&M will be a team with a big budget, fan support, football tradition and will be an asset to the league . . . but will not come in and dominate a division, like Texas might.

In other words, you're scared of Texas.

is anyone in any of these conference alignments thinking geography? seems that across the board that has been thrown out the window. more expensive travel for teams and fans, more time away from classes for the "student" athlete.

btw, there is nothing wrong with small hips. so watch it on the small hips diss!

What about adding Southern Miss along with A&M??? they fit geographicaly and have a great baseball program to go along with the football team..
