My insurance agent actually brought up my specific case to Senator Landrieu's aid as an example of people who were having to pay more. I will go from 517/month to 1080/month. The agent told me that the aid said (paraphrasing) "he doesn't have to buy it, he can just pay the fine" Nice.
I really need to stop discussing it. it pisses me off so bad not just that I'll pay an extra 6k per year for something I don't need or want but the fact that we're moving in the wrong direction with respect to health plans makes me mad.
You know what is goign to be really awesome. They are going to make us pay taxes on all the money we have in our HSA's. I just know that is coming.
Nope, that's right. I recall that being close. What I am thinking of is the the statistic on the elderly. 74% of benefits go to the elderly or disabled. Still, way more Fox News supporters there than should be if they actually were smart enough to vote for their interest...
Whatever it takes to de-fund this pile of manure. I really don't care who gets shut down as long as this law goes with it.
I would like to think so, but in the right political situation those are two big ole pots of money sitting and waiting to be taxed. One of our major political parties is led by people who believe the money we have is the goernments and they are allowing us to hold some of it.
The more I think about this the more I want to drop my plans and just pay the fine. I have nice HSA built up so I can self insure everything but the catestrophic, and if something terrible were to come down, I can just go get coverage through the exchange. Why should I pay thousands of dollars a year at this point?
