oh yeah, lil man enjoyed this one. don't think he ever saw a fish as big as him before. this is the reason i never plan on moving very far from the gulf coast. i am officially a god in his eyes.
Isn't that the coolest part? My boys...I've heard them telling their friends what a great fishermen I am. I mean, they're right...but they have nothing to compare it to...they just think Dad's the best. That's the best part of being a daddy...well, that, and making them little suckas was fun too.
yep, love that part about being a dad. them kids is easy to impress. my lil buddy has followed me around nearly every step i've taken since we got back. "helped" me clean the fish, pick up the boat, etc. although i think he was more impressed by the stingray i caught, and then the softshell crab we found in the belly of one of the redfish.
Then a few Rainbow Runners off the coast of St. Thomas. We threw back all the cuda and bonita. Caught a couple 100 to 150 lbs reef sharks for fun. This old man almost didn't survive that.
From yesterday's trip. Headed back to the same spot, shrouded in fog. Took a while to get there...nearly idled from the launch to the bay, which is about 4 miles. I know the way in the dark...but was afraid some jackleg might be anchored where they shouldn't be...and I was right about that. There were several people that apparently just decided it was too foggy, so they just anchored up in the middle of a VERY windy bayou. - Anyway, NO tide, and no wind for the most part. Wound up catching 12 trout, 3 reds, and one black drum about 18". Here's the boat shot. Had to leave the water at noon to attend a basketball game Little Fish was playing in. Had a good...albeit short time. Caught more supper.
