My son caught his first bass when he was five fishing for bream with a cork and a cricket, damn bass almost pulled him in!!!!!!! Caught it in Lake Martin just south of Breaux Bridge. I'll scan the pic and post if I can find it.
Do that, would love to see it. As he should be. There's NOTHING like the smile on a kid's face. Nothing wrong with that. It's like a win- a fish is a fish to them lil suckas.
This is my youngest but it was over a year ago. She's since undergone some metamorphosis and all of a sudden prefers hanging with her friends than fishing with dad. She did catch the biggest one. This was also at Chicot at the end of May in '09.
Yes, those little girls become young women in the blink of an eye. Mine is a senior is high school this year and its hurts to think she'll be out of the house this time next year meeting and greeting the world on her own for the first time. Gotta let them fly at some point. She's going to LSU, at least I can be there in an hour if need be and I have a brother who lives there.
My oldest is a soph and she's starting to come out of that "phase" somewhat. When she started getting into that spell (7th grade) I used to tell her when she turned 21 she'd hug me and tell me she loved me again like she did so much as a youngen. :hihi: I tell her when she's in college she's going to wake up, look outside and see her mom and I tailgating in our RV- that we don't really have, yet anyway. She laughs and says, "AHH DAD". I never stopped telling them both I love 'em every morning and every night, I occasionally get to steal a lil hug too.
