No, we don't get the usual three cupcakes for the start of the season, but one could argue that even though we beat the daylights out of our first three opponents last year, our offense was exposed when they met a worthy opponent--Auburn. It may not be too terrible to get VT early because a team is going to be tested during a season. Last year, we had lots of warm-up in games, but it didn't help much against Auburn. That being said, I'm very happy we didn't play VT FIRST.
1. Hester needed to start last night to take pressure off MF. 2. looked to be a scrimmage....lack of continuity by design? 3. not sure how many of MF runs were by design. 4. TH looks like an asteriod when he's hit. 5. D is as good as advertised. 6. Pleased with special teams 7. Moo U will win some games
Re: Flynn.... Can anybody say "Matt Mauck"? Mobile but not quick quarterback, with a good but not great arm who has the respect of his coaches and teammates and DOES NOT MAKE MISTEAKS. While I loved watching Jamarcus play, we don't NEED that at quarterback. We have enough weapons on offense and a stingy enough defense that we don't need a "playmaker." What we do need is a dependable platform to deliver to the weapons and Flynn showed himself more than capable of doing that. Remember, this is only his second game starting. I understand he is a senior and has practiced against arguably the best defense in the country, but there is no substitute for game experience and learning to make quick, and correct, decisions under pressure. Even with his limited game experience, Flynn did that. There is every reason to believe that he will get better through the season as he becomes more seasoned.

I believe that Trindon getting the ball every time he came in the game last night will make for a big gain on a fake reverse next Saturday!:geauxtige
Absolutely... He's going to be a big distraction to defenses. All it's gonna take is for him to break out once or twice early in the season. Teams will be scared of him (those that aren't already) and assign a spy when he comes in the game. It'll either be a gross mismatch of speed or it's gonna cause one of the other weapons to get some room... it's beautiful.
After all the discussion last year about "Punt Ugly", I'm surprised no one has discussed the return to the "normal" punt scheme. Worked pretty well and looks like we've got a fine distance punter in Fisher.
