What did you guys think of Terrance Tolliver tonight? I was excited to see him make a great catch and run in his first appearance as a tiger.
You mean Webster and Daniels? The lasting memory of Prude in my mind will always be the Capital One Bowl in '05, he had his bright moments but whenever the ball was in the air my heart stopped.
Everyone seems to be giving the o-line a pass because it was the first game and we weren't showing VaTech much. Maybe so, but blocking is blocking, and I thought we did a very poor job controlling the line of scrimmage. VaTech is 8 days away and our o-line (what do we have, 3 converted d-linemen on the 2-deep chart? Where are all of the guards and tackles we've been signing for 4 years?) had better get better in a hurry, or we might need a defensive score to win. With VaTech's flair for big plays on special teams, make that 2 scores. Defensively, once again, I hope it was because we ran a vanilla scheme, but I thought if MSU had committed to running the ball while the score was still an issue, we could have been in trouble. I also don't like that we let them convert on 3rd and 15 or more something like 3 times (think one got called back by a penalty). Just pessimistic I guess, but it feels strange not to feel all that good about a 45-0 win.
Or what about that personal foul by Prude in 2004 against Auburn after they had missed the extra point and gave them a second chance, the tought of Prude turns my stomach
So many short fields on your O helps keep the numbers down. One of the few times when your own defense being effective curtails offensive output. That, and what folk have said about being plain for this game. No need to show VT anything at all.....
