It sure is nice playing Monday morning QB on Tennessee than second quessing our own team this time. This was a much more pleasant evening than after the Auburn and Florida debacles.

I hope Tennessee gets fired up and upsets the Hogs next week. Arkansas just finished off Visor Boy's Cocks!

How soon we forget red, had Auburn been calling TO's LSU certainly would have had more downs instead or running out of time with a first down at the 5. It's not certain if it would have been the same this time and as it worked out LSU didn't need them but you can't say it certainly wouldn't give LSU more downs.

LSU had less than a minute left to end the game, no time outs, and a long way to go to score against Auburn. Auburn gambled that LSU would run out of clock before scoring and they wouldn't have time for a drive anyway. They were right.

Tennessee let LSU piss away 4 minutes without trying to stop the clock and cost themselves a chance for a drive. They gambled that they could force LSU to kick a field goal for OT. They were wrong.

My goodness, whoever thinks Phat Phuck Phulmer was smart leaving the clock go tick tick tick away.....well....I'll just hold my tongue on that one

I am just happy Miles and Co. had the good sense not to rush things...I was shocked we managed the clock that well actually. We have not shown good game management late in games in the 2 year tenure under Miles.

The time in which it was more than obvious for Tennessee to start calling timeouts was when we got it inside the 20 and there was less than 2 minutes to go. At this point, LSU look assured of at least tying it. You gotta give yourself a chance to get the ball back in case LSU did score a go ahead TD.

    No excuses.

Perhaps he either thought we'd score and wanted to save those TO's for the final Vol offensive drive??

Surprisingly, on the post-game broadcast, not a single Tenn. fan that called in complained about that.

We're so used to bashing our own coaches for poor decisions that we're now attacking other schools coaching decisions too.

I think you're nit-picking Red. If anything, it wasn't an obvious decision. It might have been a good idea, but either way you're gambling.

Timeouts? When LSU got down to scoring distance, why didn't Tenn just let them score? Save the timeouts and some clock for a final drive?

Seriously people we can second guess these calls from our homes/offices all day long. Fact is we don't get paid to make these decisions. So why waste time worring about them?

Fact is that not one answer is CORRECT. We can pick holes in any solution that anyone gives. That's why coaches are paid the big bucks!

Every game is different in how you look at it.

Once we got into to close field goal range you have to assume we are going to tie the game at least. If we are going to score a TD that would not have changed the decision. Being in close proximity with 2 minutes left i think tenn should have used their timeouts to get another shot because we just milked the clock.

The Auburn game the clock was Auburns friend and we simply didnt have as much time to play with when we got in the red zone and they saw our qb make the costly error taking the sack.

It has to be based on the game situation.

It may have been the right decision, but it is hard to fault the guy for not doing it.
